It feels great as is! Maybe something for the future but its not an overly 'mechanical' feel which I like, just is tight into each gear.
Haha, I know right! Looks-wise, there isn't much in it between the PMS and this. I was tempted at one stage to paint the ally but i like the shiny case.
I believe these are the correct stainless bolts for the arch liners etc - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292245348364 - No10, 1"
Mine are arriving tomorrow so i'll let you know then. That's if you want to go that route.
That's not a bad idea, @dann2707 said the BMS ones use an o ring to squash that rubber housing more. I presume this is why the yanoo gets rid of the slop.
I've enquired as to some PTFE shims that replace that rubber housing that used to be run on the Laguna cup cars. It feels much better than...
Fitted today. Feels great! Still have some left and right play when it's in gear but it's loads better than the OEM shifter!
Do people have the same slack with the BMS?
This is stiffened up with an O-ring inside the plastic ridged ball and around the outside of it.
The bristle blaster. We have one at work for prepping pipes before deploying probes, savage things! I would not be using them here.
They leave marks that look just like pitting!
Small flap disc or drill wire brush will be perfect for removing the rust here
My shifter is coming along now. Going to re-assemble with red rubber grease on everything then get it fitted. Hopefully it's stiffened up slightly too but time will tell.
I fully mig welded the bottom extension id previously tigged, ground it back and painted.
On my Clio I run studs and with standard 182 wheels I was able to just fit the covers on.
I also use the same studs to run 20mm spacers and ET43 2118S.
Can't remember the length, it's on my thread I think
Cheers all, quite happy with them considering they were only on my phone. Think i went overboard on the sharpen button though.
ET43 2118S with 10mm rear stub spacers and 20mm front hubcentric spacers.
Hammerite isn't as good as it once was. I'd get some zinc phosphate on it first as a preventative then hammerite if you want to go that way. Just make sure they won't react. Hammerite reacts with everything
