WHEEL ALIGNMENT ANOTHER POST ABOUT IT....

Have you done the inner track rods? Usually you can't feel any play in them but my god it makes a massive difference when you refresh them. I could bearly keep one of mine on the road above 50mph

    MK2 PH1 1.2 8v Clio Grande - Tidy up project

the 1.2 is a fairly early car I think on a V reg so I assume the immobiliser just looks for a code it recognises in the key and then gives the green light to the ECU to fire? i know certainly on a PH2 onwards you need to swap everything!

    MK2 PH1 1.2 8v Clio Grande - Tidy up project

I didnt! - full 1.2 8v interior/dash/uch etc is all still in place, i put the 1.2 key in and turned the ignition, immobiliser light went out as it should, turned the key and it fired! Tried the same with the 1.6 fob and 1.2 key blade and the immobiliser rapid flashed and wouldn't turn over!

    MK2 PH1 1.2 8v Clio Grande - Tidy up project

Seen a set of old skool genuine Renault speedlines, I believe from a megane coupe MK1 advertised on eBay as 15" for £300, watched them for a few weeks as I had noticed in the closeup pics they were 16" and finally got an offer of £200 posted accepted! Thoughts?

    Subframe refurb options

    Fuel lines/ return etc

Bit of an odd one here. I'm converting an old ph1 1.2 8v over to 1.6 16v. -Both cars are mk2 PH1, but the 1.2 is a very early car, the 1.6 a very late car. -The 1.2 has a fuel return line, so has 3 lines running under the car (fuel, return and i assume tank vent from the carbon canister?) -...

    Seat back protection

My Mrs has THESE , ironically for the opposite side that my daughter sits on, as she knows how to look after things, but generally other peoples kids don't.

    Oscillating humming at around 50mph

Louder when turning right will be the left hand bearing as they get noisier when you load them up when they are starting to fail

    Clio 3 rs 197 compression

That's where I would start, lock the engine at TDC and pull out the cam caps and see how the camshafts are sitting.

Clio 1.2 16v misfire, is it the coil pack?

it will also flash with a coil pack failure when it detects a destructive misfire

    Hydraulic clutch

It's a shame as different forums disappear online, years of info goes with them
  23. Martin_172

Clio 1.2 16v misfire, is it the coil pack?

If it's an intermittent misfire that's a hard thing to see in a spark plug tester. They seem to be worse at part throttle when they start to fail and behave at full throttle. Could packs are VERY common for failing on these engines

    Hydraulic clutch

The Clio van but yep, later kangoos had them too, again check the gear knob to identify as they all use that same gear knob for the hydraulic clutch models

These pics are probably as old as the thread! Cars long since been scrapped! Struggled to give those wheels away, think I sold them for £150 in good condition with newish tyres

    Hydraulic clutch

The DCI 100 had a hydraulic clutch and the later DCI 68's (mostly vans) had them too. If it has this shape gear knob its a cable clutch: And this shape is a Hydraulic clutch: Twingo mk2 with the 1.2 TCE (GT/Gordini) also uses the same gearbox and clutch so parts from that MAY fit and be...

    Daily dci

Agree with this, my old 80 had earned its value 10 times over in milage claims! They are still almost impossible to beat in terms of running costs, but now you have to be dedicated to the cause and willing to stick a pump and injectors on them, but tbh, once that's done they are good to go for...

What have you done to your car today ???

I bought a rare little ph1 1.2 16v Sport - no history of the belts being done so done that today and then the most satisfying job on a clio.... A fresh coolant bottle! Ill grab a later style black coolant cap for it this week when I'm at the scrappy
