Mine was on an rs2, not ITB's. Mikes made 160 odd on ITB's and couldn't get past me :)

Yeh, but it held that from 2500-7400. Infact it must've been making 134lb-ft at the limiter!

No, fly. Mine deffo got better with the rs2/197 setup though, so was probably around the 140 mark before

Mikes was 149lb-FT iirc, mine did 143, but was never a torquey engine.

Yeh totally agreed, they were a perfect match before. His ran 200.4 on the same setup as mine, and mine was 200.0. His was a ph1, mine was ph2 non cup so weight was in his favour.

You say that, but mike couldn't get past me along the back straight if bedford with his 438'd and ITB'd ph1! We were literally side by side all the way down.

It won't be the dephaser, I bet it's similar to cubs and one of the pulleys have slipped. He's welcome to pop it down and I'll give it a quick check.

Pretty much word for word what I said. I had faith, as it cut out gently, still had compression, spark, fuel. So next step was Timing. It went as we came off a roundabout just coming into the estate, but literally 1/4 mile earlier we were at 6000+rpm!

Tbh mate it had the Megane crank bolt, so it's an easy mistake to make for someone who's not in the know :) Still, got away with it so it's all good ;)

Nick, mine wasn't a particularly torquey engine before the rs2. It certainly didn't loose any torque.
