Ok! So the RS day at Oulton went well. The car performed better than expected and the new shifter was spot on.
The 1st session I took quite easy and got a feel for the car, after that I started to push on with my confidence building.
The new AST suspension and roll centre kit felt brilliant...
As Steven said, just cable and pedal. It'll need mapping to be perfect but it'll be good enough to drive around gently and drive to mapping.
I'll talk you through it at Anglesey in October.
My rear brakes are stronger than they were due to the inline restrictor setup but it feels good. The braking system as a whole feels better without ABS. I guess the extra effort before the ABS kicks in means the brakes are worked harder.
I'll be fitting the Brembo 4 pots with RC5+ pads in the...
Very nice Ollie!
Im considering a supercharger but my only concern with the Rotrex is the lifespan of the charger.
I'll be fitting my Brembos in the next couple of weeks so I'll let you know how they compare. I'll also be making some alloy bells and rotors.
No I haven't Mark, so they squeal sometimes!
Why's that Ollie?
Ok thanks for the feedback :)
The bells and rotors I'm doing will be £135 posted for a pair of rotors from Hi-Spec. What are the RC6 like? From what I've read they're a bit noisy, dusty and hard on discs.
Great! thanks for...
I've got braided lines and ATE blue fluid. Did you try the pads with normal Brembo HC discs?
As for your 4 pots, which ones did you have, what pads and what size/type discs?
How do you find them compared with the standard callipers? What master cylinder and abs/non abs setup have you got?
I have a bit of brake cooling nothing amazing but better than nothing.
I'm having some brake bells made up to go bells and rotors which should help with the heat a bit.
I looked at the Pagid blues and the brake coefficient and operating temperature weren't as good as the RC5+.
Just can't decide whether to fit the 4 pots or not.
Killed my DS2500 at Outlton yesterday, I now have some shiney glazed pads and discs which need replacing.
They've been fine until now but after a session of getting used to the better tyres and suspension I've been carrying more speed, which means less slowing down to some degree but I'm also...
Yes, that reminds me. If anyone ever needs help setting theirs up I would rather drink my own urine than set up the shifter. It is a genuine ball ache because it's so sensitive to adjustments.
It didn't help that it was pissing down throughout so I had to wear full waterproofs under my dirty...
Well I got my PMS shifter the day after ordering. I was a little put off by the price but I stumped up anyway and got it fitted.
Fitting was easy enough but the setup was a little trying, got it perfect in the end and I must say I'm quite impressed although I'd have felt about £100 cheaper...
