For a genuinely quick car yes it's much cheaper. No denying that.
My Fiesta with n/a zetec and a short gearbox felt fast enough with 814kg including me as driver and a full tank of fuel and the interior. That was 195bhp and 150lbft. With the Clio the same figures won't feel very quick, it's got...
It's louder than a standard cat obviously but not as loud as a straight through decat. Quite a nice sound but it depends what exhaust you're running.
I find on youtube people usually have a straight through decat and no centre box.
I've got a Ktec system with centre box and back box so its...
Cheapest isn't always the worst ;) . I've been looking at Ktec, Jamsport etc. and there's a good looking manifold on ebay but again that's Ph2. I'm in talks with the guy who ports heads for me at the moment.
The ones on here are always Ph2 inlets, no good for me. And I don't want to buy a lower...
Not sure, I've got an RS tuner unlocked now and I was going to get a custom map from Fastchip. They would probably run fine on a generic remap though.
There are no tuners around here to do a custom map so a remote one is the only option. As for checking its running ok there are a couple of good...
No the 182 decat is quite different.
I'll have a silenced Ktec decat for sale tomorrow. I'm after £80

I'm looking at getting a spare gearbox to rebuild for my Ph1 and want to fit a shorter final drive. A 4.21 would do nicely and you can get these in the JB1 as well as a 4.5 final.
Could the crownwheel and pinion be fitted to a ph1 or cup box?
No I sent them in the end of last week so I'll fit them as soon as I get them back as the dephaser needs changing.
clio_dude gave them some good feedback so I'll give them a go :)
Have a search on here for Piper vs 428 . Apart from being noisy they were good but it sounds like this shim kit...
Yes. They come with a shim kit now though to go under the lifters. This resolves issues they had previously being a bit noisy.
I've run regrinds on two cars previously too with no issue :)
I've managed to get a Ktec recessed exhaust for a decent price but I'll need to chop the bumper.
Are there any templates for doing this cutout available?
I've gone for the Pipers as they give good gains for the money compared with some of the others but I know a few guys are happy with the 421/438 Catcams which are a bit more aggressive that the 428 Catcams. A few of the traders on here do them along with a remap to suit.
Wow! They saw you coming if you paid that much for tracking and two tyres in that size.
With that width of rim you want a 195 width tyre. You can get Uniroyal rainsport 2 for £33 per tyre in 195/50-R15
As above the 16" will look better, you could keep an eye out for a set of 172 cup alloys...
Brilliant! Look forward to that.
I need to renew my tie rods and rack bushes so I've thought why not do the DCi rack. I'll be fititng the 182 manifold soon with the subframe dropped so it's an ideal opportunity to get it done.
Would there be any issue with fitting the rack to the existing...
Mild (uprated inlet cam and standard exhaust cam): Catcams 428 £600, Prima INR £300, GT £400-500. Or you could pick up a used set of Clio 197 cams for £100-150.
Bit more aggressive are the Piper BP270, these are reprofiled standard cams with shims. £360
Then Catcams 421, 438 £500, C&B, ED £500...
I bought a set of Matt Lewis motorsport/moquip/aeroquip braided lines and took them to my friendly neighbourhood garage to fit along with my ATE blue fluid.
However the lines weren't suitable, apparently the flared end is incorrect. They'll do them at a later date with new pipes.
Anyone...
