    Thermostat - how much?

Ah cool. This may sound a silly question but where actually is it located on the car? Is it an easy job to fit myself? Cheers lads :)

    Thermostat - how much?

Ah I can nip into GSF tomorrow. What exactly do I ask for? Cheers for the advice!

    Thermostat - how much?

Excellent! Can you only get them from Renault?

    Thermostat - how much?

For my 172. I'm just wondering a rough price of these, cheers.

    Headlight module unit?

Guessing it's the Xenon ballast? You can get full HID kits, with these, bulbs and wiring for £40. You won't need a full new unit at all. People sell used ballsts on here for cheap too.

It doesn't have a cold rev limiter either. I'll change that, cheers.

    Smoothing holes in tailgate

I'll go to Chester Zoo and ask the same question there.

    Smoothing holes in tailgate

I think I know what I paid for my bumper to be sprayed.

    Smoothing holes in tailgate

Nope Autolac in Bolton. The guy who's got it fitted to his car now still hasn't had any problems.

    Smoothing holes in tailgate

I had my rear bumper sprayed for £60 and had no problems whatsoever with that. The metal part of the tailgate is smaller in size than a bumper, so complete with the smoothing etc it shouldn't be too costly. £250 for a bumper to be sprayed is ridiculous!

    Rev problem

Strange one. Mine also doesn't rev up to 7k, is this normal? The limiter cuts in at around 6850k/jusy under 7k.

    Smoothing holes in tailgate

Yeah they do sound a little high. I was thinking £150 tops. I'll do it myself if it's going to be a silly amount.

    Smoothing holes in tailgate

I know this has been covered a few times before, but I'm actually going to do it. Does anyone have a rough idea how much I'd be looking at to get the Clio badge holes welded/smoothed over and the full tailgate resprayed the same colour? Better still, has anyone actually had it done? I know I saw...

Hats off to you mate. You've got the car the way you wanted it, and will be putting it to good use (track!). Enjoy it :)

    Rev problem

Sometimes at idle my car will rev up and down very slightly (at cold temperatures), and it was revving up when I pressed my clutch down before revving back down again, but this has sorted itself. The coolant level is fine. If I change the thermostat would this help? Or are there any ways to...

    Rev problem

Would the thermostat cause the engine temperature indicator to be incorrect? Mine says it's up to temperature at idle, but when I boot it it seems to go down.

    Thoughts/Opinions

Yep, I've had both, and Sportlines make hardly any difference. Everyone says it but you will want to go lower if you just get springs. Coilovers will handle loads better as well as looking better, and won't put more strain on your dampers (they go anyway) as you'll be using the coilover ones, so...

any 172 owners insured with Brentacre? - what was your agreed BHP cap?

I'm with them, found their service excellent and the policy spot on. There's no way you'll reach 180bhp with basic mods (exhaust, remap etc.) in a Clio so you can mention that and they will take note.
