Before you do any of that, just make sure it's not your alternator bracket that's rattling,
it's a brace bar that secures it to the block.
I was about to rush a belt change and put myself in the poor house because I thought the rattle was terminal,
turns out it was the bracket that was loose...
Pain in the arse tbh mate, as i've no clue what size it is or where i'd get another bolt from.
Do I even need it as it's doing nothing atm because it's not attached?
God knows how long it's been like that, could have been years tbh.
1*2s fitted with an RS2 inlet must have had there's removed.
Turns out it's the alternator bracket. :D
I got a mate to hold on to the thing while I blipped the throttle,
the rattle stopped instantly, it didn't feel loose initially but giving a hard wiggle moved it about loads.
I really quite happy because I was about to skint myself to rush an aux/cam...
Well all the belts are due for change as it's been 5 years,
only problem is i'm having a really hard time trying to save for it,
as soon as I get a few hundred quid together, something comes up and life drains it away. :dapprove:
I know if the aux belt snaps it can take the cam belt with it,
so...
Pretty much, wrap the end of a flat head screwdriver in gaffa tap,
slide it underneath the front of the bullet and just lever it off.
Lol how so, I don't remember a TG episode where the Stig passed out drunk in a tent. haha
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
Well it looks a hell of a lot better than I thought it would,
I like it in black tbh, but i'll still wait until I see one in real life before I decide how I feel about it.
But does anyone else think the headlights being on the side makes it look like a...
Might be worth taking the wheels off and having a look anyway,
if it makes you feel better both my front corners are clunking,
and my ball joints, tie rods & track rod ends were all replaced within a year.
There's also the wishbones, the bushes could be knackered so i've got to check those...
The dog kennel has developed some kind of metallic rattle,
it sounds like it's some kind of washer or gasket's loose and it's coming from around the belts or cam cover.
I have no idea what it could be and the engine doesn't sound like a black cab that much,
so I thinking it's not the dephaser...
Don't let that put you off mate, I didn't even know how to get my bullets and badges off,
not to mention the fact i've never sprayed anything in my life.
The best way to learn is by doing,
I don't have pics of all my badges and diamonds, but this is the one i'm most proud of.
Bloody good meet yesterday, lovely food, good company, doesn't get better than that really. :approve:
Cheers for the beer Fred, you're a top bloke.
Although for some reason I got lost on the way home, but it did give me a chance to see the McLaren garage,
the MP4-12C is like a bloody work of art.
I might eat dinner before I show up, i've just read the menu,
looks out of my pauper price range. :o

In the other thread Fred is asking about numbers tonight,
he's said the owner of the pub want's to know a rough estimate.
I take it he's talking about tonight's meet?
