    a gearbox problem on a 172? never?! lol yeah they are a common weakness, replace the box is really the only way, and then be more carefull with the next one, i went thru 2 on my 1.2 16v in a year

    40mm lowering springs for 1.2

    if you want low dont get 40mm they hardly look any lower from some angles! i had the apex -60mm ones on my 1.2 16v with the apex dampers and even that didnt sit that low! so i went to coilovers. but tbh, for handling go for eibach for lowness apex -60mm

    they dont half cost a fair bit with options, i was pricing one up on the net earlyer and it came to about £19,000! lol id want xenons, recaros, white wheels, climate and cup chassis, in black of course!

    my 1.2 16v done 120 on the clock but it only came out at 112mph gps, but that was a 16v

    na dont really want to go with aftermarket management, just thought cams would be worth while since the cambelt was getting done anyway but dont want to go spending mega money.

    i would if i could insure something jap lol. so basically cams arnt worth it? the actual power gain didnt bother me it was the extra low down torque that sounded nice.

    insurance is only £1200 fully comp now that im 19 with 1yrs ncb, thats why im looking at getting the cambelt done and cams etc although starting to think best bet is to do the cambelt myself (and just take the plunge and buy the tools) stick a 182 manifold on it, decent exhaust, inlets done...

    lol "the rally" is too loud and the stealth (which does EXACTLY what a stealth should do, ie low noise, and is hidden) doesnt give the power gain im looking for) the stealth is perfect but just dont really want to fit cams, 182 manifold etc etc to fit an exhaust that wont give me the power...

    fitting isnt a problem i can do all the fitting myself (cams at a push if i bought the tools) its the mapping, i just wanted to save the hastle and get it all done at once and save me the hastle! yozza stealth is the exhaust id get BUT i want a better power gain, but its an option. ali, what...

    decent tyres, decent brakes and coilovers are only mods id do to a 1.2, anything else i wouldnt bother with!
