Yeah you've snapped the hub off at the ball joint, which has led to your driveshaft pulling out of the box. Due to the way a differential works, drive goes to the side of least resistance
He may class hismelf as a Renault "specialist" but he certainly aint a RenaultSport and F4R specialist.
The timing procedure is quite sensitive on these engines, and its very easy to balls it up, which it sounds like he has.
I think this is going to be an expensive lesson as I can see you...

If you're into bikes and guy martin, then closer to the edge is also a good watch in 3D
Research research research. You'll get a load of people telling you not to bother as you'll do it wrong etc etc. But just read up as much as possible on the timing procedure and you'll be fine. Oh and only use genuine timing tools, not the cheaper ones
