got a dog and needed a 5 door... mazda so so much quicker and same fuel economy... oh and i get bored easy... but now the missus has a twingo gt for the dog so could have kept it in the end :clown:
me and the missus
heres my cars from the last 12 months.....
R27
dec 07 - feb 08
Mazda 3 MPS
feb 08 - aug 08
Audi 3.0s quattro cab
aug 08 - oct 08
Crossfire roadster
oct 08 - dec 08
And now GTA
Clio r27 = stunning motor rarer than r26, mpg a big let down for performance :cool:
Clio 197 cup = naff in my eyes awful dash and trim for a very small saving of weight, still fun, but would rather have a year older r27 no contest.:clown:
Clio Trophy = one of the best clios and rare. all...
looks great, my missus has one but she has no interest in pimping it up.. (or money)
But like every one says lowered and spacers are an absoloute must!!
they are great buzzy little cars tho!
My dad has had alfas over the last 15-20 yrs and not experienced any issues. he is on his 3rd now and not one has broken down or had any major issues, and he drives them relitavely hard.
The ony issues are premature cambelt failures.. easy enough.. get the cambelt done earlier than its actually...
Yeah should be a good one - yeah got a LCR nice motor but looking to sell now due to house buying and also hopefully buying a new car.
what?? your getting a new house and new car?? no one told you theres a credit crunch ;)
that looks sweet, i wanted the 18" wheels. I am gonna get some bigger wheels and uprated suspention next but credit crunch is saying no! 18" oz spuerturismos in matt black probably or ultimately 19" bbs ch's but £1800 a bit dear!
I understand your comments gaz and fair doos. But i still dont think there in the same class. It is a heavy car about 1360kg i think but as its got a big v6 lump thats probably up 100kg over the 4 pot straight away.
The saxo is typically grouped against lupo gti's, fiesta's, 106's...
OK I must admit the handing isnt as good as a clio but its not that type of car in my eyes... Its more of a comfortable cruiser thats capable of comfortably keeping up with most other hot hatch's on the road.
I love it for many reasons,
The sound of arguably the bet mass produced v6 is...
fuel is quite bad but not loads worse than my old 197 to be honest.. £37 will get me about 270-290 miles on a gentle run, round town probably down to 210-230.
They are reliable cars in fact its the V6 and diesel alfas that are the reliable ones. Its the people who dont know about the issues...
its grunty enough and yes thirsty! Handling not so great but now with its upgraded q2 LSD it will full throttle out of corners with no wheel spin at all, so next up is Koni FSD's and it will handle superb!
