scorpion are a good make of exhaust, not sure that it being silenced will effect power, you wont see a huge gain in having a decat anyway IMO. not sure what the decats are like though why dont you ask lunner to make one up for you? give him a pm

ive had my mk1 172 for 5 months now and no problems at all (fingers crossed) but in general the only thing thats annoys me is rattle in the car. put an exhaust on it and you wont hear it!!!!

the best thing to do is put some redex or similar into your tank before you fill up next time and it should clean up the tank and get rid of the crap getting into the engine. if it keeps doing this it could be spark plugs if they havent been changed or cleaned for a while
