As I recall Mk1s had various gaps between the headlamps and the bumper even on new "Untouched" cars. Perhaps Im a little to cautious.

Personally I would worry about it. Maybe a good idea to ask a 172 owner to drive it and see if it handles any more wibbly wobbly than normal.

What I always find strange is when you tell the service dept your car has a funny noise, rattle, wobble etc, at 140, they say sorry nothing they can do about that. So you just chuck the car away if theres a fault over 70 ? If the car is supposed to perform at those speeds why cant they be...

As Renault have now come up with the best modern day Clio. It has made sl*gging a bit difficult. Only noticed a few astethic opinions so far.
