My valver is compeltely stripped at the rear, no door cars, no carpet, no headlining, no sound deadening, i was wondering if i should lower the tyre pressure on the rear since its not really carrying any weight at all! any suggestions

ok today the engine has been starting first time every time!! wtf is going on?? ill give the connections a jiggle tomorrow when im working on it, and see if it makes any difference.

have you tried pumping the brakes a few times?? and are you bleeding them properly??

well i took it off, but it had a very distinctive mark from where the screw had sat against it for all those years, so i put it back exactly on that. and it runs perfectly! thanks for the explaination though mick ;)

idle control valve? TPS? just general carb set up not injecting enough fuel? not sure if any of those are on a carb engine and it will only be the clutch if it is failing to disengage the engine from the box. and therefore when parked the engine cannot turn over as its still connected to the...

i think you're asking the wrong people dude, most people here arnt really into carb engines or mk1s at all (bar F7P/R) sorry.
