I think I must be tight, but I'd struggle to justify paying money like that for a 13-year old boggo Clio. Paid £1350 for my 172 Cup about 3.5 years ago with similar mileage and in better condition than that one sounds. I do like a 1*2 but values seem bit strong for my tastes. That's 197 money now.

I absolutely get this. I am totally over having old cars for daily duties. Having leased for a year, although it does cost more, it's just so nice knowing that you can jump in, everything will work and you don't have to think about it. Hassle free motoring is where it's at. Didn't go lease this...

The pedal box in my Escort is an absolute t**t to adjust when you're laying under the dash, let alone in the seat, so I think I am safe from that perspective at least. The roll cage stuff is ridiculous however. I'm restoring an old 90s F2 car and am unlikely to get it logbooked this year, so...

So you can run the 197/200 pistons with the 1*2 head ok? Didn't know that. I thought going the whole hog and fitting 197/200 head was required, though I don't know why 😂 Does the 197/200 use a high CR than the 172?

Wider the better. 205 is quite a narrow tyre for an 8" rim really, but 8" is quite a wide rim for a Clio! Be interesting to see if it fits.

My car has the Fatty set-up. One of the best things I did to the car. Costs naff all and makes it sound proper angry. Great mod in my eyes. Looks better than the Ktec in my view too. Don't really like massively long silicone hoses, think it looks a bit odd.

That JY is lovely. Worth every penny if the resto is as good as it looks. There can't be another like it. If I had just won the Euro, I would have no problem adding that to my collection. Love that. Do like a Nova.

The V6 Clio really is a car we will never see the likes of again. As you say, it will keep on going up in value and, the more all this electric nonsense is forced on us, the more people will crave things like this. Must have been a riot driving it in the Alps. Would love to do another road trip...

Don't think I've ever driven a 182. Have driven normal 172 and Cup though. I doubt you'd really notice any difference in terms of driving in reality. Not in the real world. The lack of equipment and worse interior is more likely to be noticed. Saying that, do I regret buying my Cup over a more...
