i don't see what the problem is? You bought a laptop which clearly didn't include office. Is that Microsofts fault? I use open office, its free and completely compatible with Ms office.

awesome chris. Just goes to show that the megapixel count means nothing. Decent glass and a good eye is where its at.

i think people are under the illusion that you have to buy lots of bits and blow all your money on expensive glass. The lens kit should more than keep you busy for several months. Theres no point spending more money on lens, when you haven't even mastered the one you already have!

unless you are already a very good and experienced photographer, i don't see the point in spending £2k on kit. You could quite easily spend 1/2 that and take equally good photos. It may be a case of all the gear, no idea?
