I take it you have now disconnected the battery. The lights being on would suggest a bad earth. If you were going to take it to a garage to sort the starter out then you might be better off asking them to look into both issues.

So when you connected the new battery did you try turning it over? Just curious as to why you hooked up a new battery and tried to bump start it. If the smoke was coming from the driver's side then it'll be the alternator.

I think I can hear mine sometimes then realise it's the heating 😂 I've set the top exhaust fan to run at 20% and it's still the loudest one in it, I need to swap it out for one of my noctua ones.

Nice, it's a bit of beast compared to mine but with a card that big you need the space! Built in fan hubs are a great addition to cases too.

Have you checked the rear shocks? If they're getting on a bit then it could be that.

You're right about the pipes, but if you can't mount it that way just make sure the pump isn't at the highest point. That way it will avoid air bubbles getting in it.

My build started with a 6600k and after a year I upgraded to a 6700k which cost me £30 after selling my old CPU. It was a worthwhile upgrade 3 years ago, but now I'd be looking at something newer tbh.

That's probably your issue then. An i5 is no match to the same gen i7 these days. I've seen games run at 60% load on an i7 that are pegged at 98/99% on the i5.

I liked the old Gold wireless headset when I had my PS4. Decent bit of kit for the money they were.

I'm now wondering whether it's because I moved everything around and cleaned some old dusty boxes whilst tidying up. The pc would have been on when I was doing that so hopefully it's a one off.

I think being in isolation for 2 weeks didn't help this. Also, that is the only intake on the case. My old one used the front and both sides so didn't have build up in one place.

4th October I swapped everything into my new case. Just thought I'd have a look at the dust filter. At least I know it works 😂

It's one of the basics really. You need to have a word with your mates, they should've told you this already.

A separate drive for your Windows installation. You don't want everything on one drive because if you have to reinstall windows (which is more often than you think) you'll lose everything else with it....

That's very strong pricing for the 6800 and 6800XT. Very much a case of shots fired.

AMD or Nvidia - it really doesn't matter this time by the looks of it. This can only be a good thing for everyone as increased competition should help push the prices down.

I'll be honest, I didn't realise they done 860 versions of the M.2 drives. I thought they were 970/980.
