I've had fun (not) the last couple of days getting a 3070ti to run properly in my new build. I ended up reducing the power supply to the GPU in MSI afterburner and it finally runs well. Just a small improvement over the old 1070 it replaced.
The old one...
The slightly bigger new one...
I've got some bits I need to get rid of if anyone is interested.
Asus Z170i Pro Gaming Motherboard
i7-6700k
16gb 2666MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM
Corsair RM650i PSU
Corsair Pro PSU Cable Kit - Black
NZXT H210i Case x 2 (One used, one unopened)
If you buy a new mobo when they change the socket type then you can be pretty sure it'll support 2 generations of CPUs.
That's how it's been for quite a while now.
Are you still on PS4? I imagine all of the old consoles struggle to run this, including the Pro and X versions. It's very heavy on the CPU's which is awful to say the least on those.
I still haven't forgotten about the landy incident where a certain @Ant1 completely lost his sense of direction and killed everyone other than himself in the gas.
If you're still running the same setup then I'd say yes. My 6700k didn't drop much below 85% utilisation whilst running the beta. It peaked at 99% a few times which made it stutter a bit.
I threw a new mobo and 11600k in yesterday 😂
