Renault UK these days are absolutely hopeless and rude, but it's worth a try I suppose it's only as helpful as the person you get.
I'm having issues with my 6 months old 220 trophy and Renault UK are worse than the renaulsport dealer I'm dealing with (parks of Motherwell)
Yeah weight difference and newer emissions regs I believe, the MK4 however is just a tad heavier than a MK2 DCI, it's about the same weight as a 182 so still very light
Black smoke and warning lights is usually a good sign as it's getting fuel, usually a boost leak or worst case turbo issue! It's when there is no smoke it's an issue lol
I doubt it, Renault sport UK isn't what it used to be, remember how active the official forum was with reps from Renault sport on the forum, now there's no one. Remember Jeremy the director for renaulsport UK used to post on here. I think all these guys used to organise a lot of it
10 minutes with my wire strippers and soldering iron ?
I'd go full hog and bin the f7r and put a 220 trophy engine and dual clutch box in it though! Why f**k about!
The f7r used a jc5 gearbox didn't it? In that case an auto from a MK2 Clio should physically fit but the box wasn't great I don't think, it was used in 1.6 16v Clio initiale.
Your best bet is probably one of the older auto boxes if they fit
I think the ph1 dash aged pretty quickly and the ph2 made it look so dated, but as times moved on and the ph2 dash looks old hat, the ph1 now looks retro cool! always loved mine with the retrimmed wheel, alloy knob and white dials!
fuel system is better than it is on the mk2 (but the mk2 isn't actually a big problem, starting to suffer issues now they are nearing anywhere from 12-20 year old)
they are drastically worse on fuel compared to a mk2 however are still very fuel efficient! my DCi106 was doing around 10-15mpg...
Facebook market place is where it's at I've picked up loads of mk2s for £100-£400 and punted them on trader/ scumtree for £500+
personally I'd pay up to £1500 for a nice spec and condition 80/100, preferably an 80
it's epas but it's good! I never saw it as a negative, my Mrs has a mk4 clip with the same epas your talking about and the epas in my mk4 220 feels like a different car, it's all in the setup/calibration
cheers, its not a bad job tbh once you have the dials out the car, infact the electric window switches were more fiddly to change the lights! assuming these stand the test of time for a few miles I might start doing some for people!
Today since i had a set of dynamique clocks i decided it...
success!!!
Went to the scrappies and picked up a set of Dynamique clocks so red needled, silver surround etc bit nicer looking but ultimately they also have a trip computer so now all I need is a stalk with the button on the end and ill have one too! stripped them an swapped out the LED's and...
I thought that too until I bought one, Clio RS always brings a smile to your face but I was regularly in the car myself giggling out loud in the twingo, I chased a poorly driven audi S4 a few years ago in mine down a pretty fast road with some decent bends, not just a tight backroad and before I...
