Probably the tattyist looking engine bay on a Clio running itbs ?
So the car ran and drove all be it up the road and back with no front end on it. Went to move it last night and the fuel pump isn’t priming.
Haven’t had time to check it properly but should be able to figure it out one evening...
Haha the last bit about WRC is so wrong so many levels. Far from slow in a straight line.
Also engine wise specs are pretty identical. 380bhp 1.6 turbo in both
It runs.
Now ready for @bloke to finish some niggles and wire a few things up.
Golf rad with the bottom hose welded on an angle and pins welded for the subframe. It just needs a bracket in the top and the fans fitting
You know when you start something you wish you hadn’t
The engine loom what came with the bodies has no plugs for the pas pressure switch or dephaser. The car the loom was off was running no vvt. So this loom is coming back off tonight. Old one back on and hopefully source a gen 90 ecu this...
Cheers ?? I had a quick look but I can’t get the in the to look properly with all the s**t in the garage. I popped my head in but my looks got a million cable ties and tape holding out the way
Haven’t done anything since Thursday but I’ve had a change of plan.
I was going to fit the box and subframe, have a couple of evenings driving it. Then fit the bodies before mapping.
But I thought sod it. I’m going to do it all at once.
So tonight unplugged all the loom. Just got to...
Quafie don’t offer a final drive but I know several companies that sell a final drive to fit the quafie. Found a few after a long time of googling parts in France and Italy before I bought my diff.
I run b14 on my rally car. They’re perfect for what I need them for. Shame you can’t change the damping but it’s a lot easier to know what the cars going to do not having that option. I wouldn’t say they’re as soft as people make out but it might be down to the tyres I run being better than your...
Manifold and this shitty decat is off
Hopefully on Monday night the car should be built back up. Just waiting on a new fitting kit for the exhaust and black series arb bushes which are both being delivered on Monday
New Clutch, lightened flywheel and box all fitted tonight.
Too a few goes to get the fly wheel on though. For a minute I thought I wasn’t going to fit
This was the hole in the old box
Also got a new flange on the 182 manifold. No messing about this week.
Now it’s manifold and subframe...
Picked up the gearbox off @NorthloopCup tonight. He’s fitted the RSX diff, cw&p and reconditioned the box.
Can’t wait to get this on now. More looking forward to this than the sound of the jenveys.
I’ve also got the car booked in for mapping on the 25th of August at efi
Yeah it will be a few weeks until they’re all up and running but I’ll get some pictures
Yeah website isn’t the best with it being translated. I wish I knew they were that cheap from the start. I would of got a Clio bonnet pod and bought these lights. Instead I’ve got to butcher a sack bonnet...
Time to get the bits sorted.
Tonight got the subframe off. All the captive nuts span ? managed to get one off wedging a spanner in bit I cut the others off. They wouldn’t budge. Even with the bigger makita impact wrench.
The box is getting picked up tomorrow. So it’s box on. Drive it up the...
Entry paid and accepted for The Promenade Stages in Wallasey in September. Really looking forward to it.
Time to get all these bit on the car. Hopefully get the box back off @NorthloopCup next week ?
Then it’s a month to get the car finished and mapped.
But what the hell is this? Why would...
I wouldnt know what size tyres to use on gravel but a mate of mine uses 15” still on gravel but 6,5” wide.
Would you be interested it selling the Öhlins or group n set up? ??
I’ve heard there’s some on eBay that are rebranded hella. I’ll have to get the name of them.
I’m doing the prom stages in September and they do 2 stages on Friday night. Then when the north west stages come back in 2019, they’ll have something in the night too.
So these arrived today from maxi racing in Italy ?
The fit is perfect.
Need some lamps now and a spare bumper so I can mount them.
More parts arriving this week. Because I’ll be dropping the subframe to fit the new gearbox it would be rude not to fit a 182 manifold whilst I can get at it...
This is where the problems come in. The picture they sold me as the crown wheel would have the slots for the ball bearing. But it hasn’t got them. It just gets pressed on. I could of got the slots machined but I’m going to get it welded on.
It’s from Spain and it’s helical. They did me a really good deal for the diff, cw&p and flywheel. It all came in under the price for a gripper is on its own.
I’d rather the gripper but for the price I’ve paid for this I thought I’d try it. It’s got warranty and if I don’t like it it’s always...
I’m sure it will be fine. WRC cars top out at about 120mph.
Steve Davies runs a 5.25 in his with a gripper. He does run a kangoo box with slightly longer ratios but at Mira there’s a huge straight and he’s not hitting the limiter
Works out at 113mph on this. Not sure how actuate it is because the tyre size is wrong. I’m happy with that though. I’ve never got over 105mph when I’ve been out in mine.
