ive just been an poked my head under the car and i think your right there is only about 2" max to play with before you get to the centre section! De-cat it is then.. ill worry about emmisions when my M.O.T comes round :rasp:

Did you get the link pipe aswell? Have you already fitted the manifold, if not i dont suppose you could measure the link pipe for me? ;)

Sorry i didnt explain myself very well, i am thinking of cutting my current cat-back exhaust down until the 182 cat can meet the end of it :S Does that make sense? i.e. how much of my exahust would i have to chop off to accomodate the 182 cat..

I am tempted to just chop my exhaust down until it fits, then weld a new flange on? How much are we talking about here? cant be much more than an inch?

Have you got a 182 manifold fitted to your 172?

I currently have a magnex cat back system.. you say the 182 cat is too long? what can i do come M.O.T time though?

Now is the tricky part... fitting the bloodey thing lol! Ideally i want to keep the cat in with it.. well i think i do ;) But the end that connects to the exhaust has a weird flange? IIRC a 182 cat is 200cell, am i right?

oo yeh, manifold and cat! :cool: The bloke even gave me the 2 lamba sensors with the wire cut as long as it can go lol

The link pipe shouldnt be a problem, as were fiting the manifold in one of the Magnex R&D bays.. suppose my Dad working there has its perks ;)

When i was at Renault last time i enquired about a new PH1 air box as mine has 3 clips missing and is a bit tatty! he said something around £73 IIRC

Same as the clio cup racer air box.. and simlear design to the PH1 clio air box, but the PH1 has 2x70mm air feeds and the espace airbox 1x110mm air feed

Yeh i did e-mail him regarding delivery but he didnt botrher getting back to me about that? I thought i would risk it and throw a last minute bid in ;) A few minutes after the auction ended he e-mailed me his phone number and said ring me.. He then agreed to meet me near enough half way...

Well a 4-1 mani normally means more top end power and 4-2-1 more low down power IIRC the ideal exhaust system ID is 2.5"
