    Exhaust mount problem

I see, cheers. Well I supose I will have to wait and see tomorrow. Just hope they dont try charging me a load extra saying it was the engine mount that caused it. Will cost me 80-100 miles worth petrol/time just to get there and back as it is:dapprove:

    Exhaust mount problem

Are you talking the engine mount or exhaust mounts? (or both!) The exhust mounts didn't seem to bad before I had it put on but they didn't use them either. They were removed and they used there own mounting system.

    Exhaust mount problem

Cheers for that, might just get them to fix that at the same time as the exhust then as long as they dont try ripping me off for it.

    Exhaust mount problem

Just started hearing a knocking noise in my boot on the way home today. When I got in I had a look and both the mounts for the back box on my Powerflow stealth have given way. I only got it fitted in January this year so gave the place a call and they said to bring it in tomorrow. They also...

Fao 172/182 - of those who got theirs for a 'bargain' price

My 53 plate was 6k last Oct which seemed good compared to others I looked at. Shortly after getting it the radiator started leaking from the bottom where I couldn't see it (new one fitted under warranty). Then the following month the back box decided to drop off. So got new powerflow for £250...

is it normal for a 172 to use water

Mines a 53 plate and the radiator went a month after getting it last october. Cost the AA £350 to replace. Think if you shop around that would be cheaper though.

182 petrol cost for 145 miles on motorway??

Best I have had is 36-38 on the motorway but that was setting it as soon as I filled up and did a little bit of town driving. (plus giving at a few blasts along the way:o ). Arn't the 172's meant to be slightly better than the 182's on fuel?

    197 or 1*2

Out of the two I would have a 197 every time, but I can't afford one:( . If I was spending that much cash on a car I'm not sure thats what I'd choose though. Still the 1*2's are still one of the best bang for buck cars out there and in a few years time maybe the 197 will be the same??

    Exhaust has cried enough!

I had to drive mine for a good week before I got my powerflow. Had a 40 mile drive on the motorway to get it to, makes your ears bleed:S

    backbox Support

I got a Powerflow the other month, as long as you tell them you want it quiet as possible they will do it for you. Mine is just a fraction louder than a standard one. It's also nearly 1/2 the price and will last a hell of alot longer:approve:

    Annoyed!

Might want to look at getting AA breakdown and repair cover if you only have 2 months. Only cost £65 ontop of any normal cover they do. http://www.theaa.com/services/breakdowncover/option_table.jsp (near the bottom) I got it when I got mine and within a month of having it the radiator went and...

    172 vs Cooper S

My brother has the super charged S and in a straight line the 172 just has the edge. Not had chance to try the twisties yet but on a country run I would say it would come down to driver skill/balls imo.:approve:
