It is going to get quite expensive, because when you resealed it, you'll need to redo the cambelt and aux belt. Its circa £300 or so just for all the bits needed for the cambelt / aux belt change iirc. Let alone the labour and the retiming. In truth, it may be cheaper to buy a decent / healthy...

Rocker cover is matched to the head I am afraid, so you would need it resealed.

It isn't helped that it is on Dynamique alloys, not 172 ones, but there is something definitely wrong with that ride height. The wheels at the front seem 'pushed back' a bit aswell. Blacked out rear lights aswell. I'd be voting with "avoid". A decent one will crop up, just need to monitor here...

Plans sound good. You may need to wait for the right phase 1 for a bit, but it sounds like you aren't in a great rush. Plenty to read / project threads to look at on here to help shape some ideas in the mean time ;)

It's not a safety thing. I have the EML light on mine and on track I've gone over 100mph and it's never beeped. My porsche used to do it, as a setting to advise me I was 'pressing on', but not had it in the clio to date. Get the fault code read, and go from there.
