    doing tracking at home

I don't understand how some people/garages fail in such an epic proportion to get a steering wheel straight!! If the wheel is off to the left say, you need to wind in the n/s track rod to shorten it and do the opposite on the o/s to lengthen it!!! Obviously only turn it a qtr at a time, but...

    doing tracking at home

Try looking here. Extremely accurate way to set your tracking if you don't have access to alignment equipment. http://www.circletrack.com/chassistech/ctrp_1204_determining_wheel_alignment_string_your_car/

    Hybrid 172/200 engine

I can't see why not personally, but there's only so far I'd be happy to go with a standard crank before you weaken it, and the only way you know you've gone to far is when it's to late! Lol

    Hybrid 172/200 engine

I'm going to have to disagree there chip. I've seen both a 197/200 solenoid and a 1*2 one, and they are nigh on identical except the wiring plug is different and a few other small things. Both engines use the same horseshoe cam locking device so I can't see how the timing will be wrong? Are you...

    Hybrid 172/200 engine

You'd be surprised at what I know about these little details Tom! Yeah pretty much mate. One of the reasons it was constantly variable was to try and improve on a bit of midrange torque and drive ability. Standard ecu will cope perfectly fine, it just needs to be mapped by someone like Paul @...

    Hybrid 172/200 engine

Sounds to me like you need to be on the lookout for a set of 197/200 pistons, rods, cams, head and ancillaries and the crank then. The 197 crank is roughly 1.5kg lighter than a stock 1*2 item as well in case anyone else is interested. I dropped lucky and picked up all of the above plus a set of...

Clio Cup Racer Roof Scoop fitted

They do let a small amount of water in but nothing major. I followed a truck that was kicking up spray and you got the odd spot every now and then. I didn't have a speckled face or clothing either! Lol! Fitting one of these was by far, THE best mod I've made to my cup.

    Uprated wishbones

I believe that pms use tubular lower arms on the subframe/hub assembly they built, but the difference is that they are straight arms not bent like these ones, with the front arm used to adjust camber and the rear to adjust castor. Most competition cars run with a similar style/setup to the pms...

That pin WILL 100% elongate the bottom hole in the hub. That's assuming its not snapped beforehand of course!!

    Uprated wishbones

There are so many flaws in their design its untrue. I mean you have to remove the rod ends from the subframe to adjust them for a start! The bracket for the arb will no doubt bend and deflect negating the effectiveness of the arb, and I won't even pass comment on the pins for the hubs! S**t the...

    Hybrid 172/200 engine

A 197/200 head needs adapting to suit a 1*2 cambelt setup. Easily done though - its literally 1x hole needs drilling and tapping. It must however be done accurately.

    Hybrid 172/200 engine

Blocks are not the same as a 200 has the water pump driven by the cambelt. You can put the pistons, rods and crank in from a 200 into a 1*2 block though but you need the cylinder head off one as well. Standard management will only run the dephaser the same way as it does on a 1*2 (constantly...

    Got caster yo

Yes the cup racers did it that way to get the castor increase. You could use a pms wishbone kit and do the same thing if you have different length spacers machined.

    Painting rocker cover

To paint the rocker cover whilst its still on the car is nice and straight forward mate. You need to fully degrease the rocker cover first to remove any oily deposits, then get everywhere you don't want painting masked/covered up. Next job is to give the rocker cover a quick going over with a...

Approved Rim Width Range for 15" 888's

Well considering all the racers on here now run 205's as they give extra noticeable grip, I'd say yeah it's well worth a shot with the 215/50's. the only issue you may encounter is on the rear. You will probably find you need to roll the rear arch lips or run smaller spacers (assuming you have...
