its simple really, i have a blu-ray player so why would i buy inferior dvd's now, waste of money really, just like i don't buy ps2+1 games when I have a PS3.
I'm not addicted though, only buy the films that are worth getting on blu-ray, i wouldn't buy a comedy on blu-ray for instance.
np, MD was a shame, so many times has the best technology lost out!
For once blu-ray was a winner and sony finally got the big one, really glad as they should have done well with MD too!
agreed, my laptop has blu-ray but i only use it when i'm away as at home i use the ps3, although my laptop does have hdmi out so i can use it to play blu-rays on my dads tv when i am there
yeah, so hdmi into the tv, then the tv to the amp via i am guessing the red and white phono leads?
Does mean its not proper dolby but you'll get the same type of sound that you currently do from dvd's, with the better picture. Plus it upscales all your dvd's too and if you have region 1 dvd's...
my dad had the DAVS300 which was a favourite from a few years back, he wanted to do the same. Problem is that the systems are more powerful these days, i persuaded him to change the speakers to the ones that came with the new amp, he just kept the speak cables the same.
The connections were...
says £329 for me, has it gone up since this morning?
saying that, the one i posted has also gone up, its now £599!
I think JL were price matching someones boxing day sale yesterday at £499 for one day only, oh well, gotta be quick these days i guess!
thats funny because i've had a number of tomtom's, as have other people in my family, our company has then in the pool cars and i've never known any of them to have any fault ever.
inherently, because more people have them i guess more are likely to go wrong as theres more of them to go wrong...
tomtom are definitely the most popular, and that normally tells you something, they seem to have the biggest range too and the best and most innovative features.
I guess its what others around you use which normally guides you to what you buy, i've had multiple friends have other brands though...

excellent value, £499 with a 5yr warranty, doesn't get much better than this, excellent tv, 1080p, good brand, great warranty, free delivery, in stock.
perfect picture, i have a ps3 too and played the dark knight on both and they were the same really.
The only thing the ps3 has over the 350 is the ability to decode DTS HD MA sound, the 350 only does Dolby True HD, so it depends on what your amp does, whether it does any decoding, whether you...
best one at the moment seems to be the sony s350, £175 from amazon with 5 blu-rays (was £159 before christmas when i bought it).
its a second generation so is quick to load, has an ethernet port for firmware upgrades.
Don't believe you can stream stuff to them though, need a PS3 for that i...
sorry but i really do disagree, the traffic updates via the cable actually work very well, i have been relying on them for the past 3 weeks having to drive into central birmingham and central london every day.
They have been invaluable, lock on within about 2 minutes, sometimes even before the...
i love television threads, they are just like 360 vs. ps3 and canon vs. nikon.
People always tell you the one they went for is the best as it suited them, doesn't mean to say they were right........
Personally i've always been an LCD man, i cannot say any plasmas i have seen look better, plus...
Canon 50d, Canon 10-22, canon 17-55 IS f2.8, canon 50mm, canon 70-200 f4.0 L, canon 17-85 IS.
no point in posting pics to decide on a camera as its more about the lenses and the photographer than anything else.
arrrrghh, people like you really annoy me, and its the same thought over on avforums.
you do not need to zoom into the picture, the black bars are meant to be there, if you zoomed in you wouldn't see all the picture, so wouldn't you prefer to see all of it and have some black bars you won't...
that 1.4x converter

won't work with my canon 70-200 f4L will it? Needs to be a sigma lens i'm presuming?
Always...
no they aren't 5.1, i had heard bad things about headphones and 5.1.
I am just interested in the best noise reduction i could get and these fit the bill

i'm getting a set of the Digital noise cancelation Sony ones for Christmas, £200, not sure if thats classed as high end or not but the noise cancelling is amazing, better than the bose quietcomfort even.
this should help

basically, VC is your only option for vmware alerts but its quite expensive, nearly as much as an ESX host itself from memory.
If you want hardware alerts then depending on the server...
can't believe you thought the 450d was heavy and cumbersome, its one of the lightest and smallest DSLR's really, wait until you get a decent lens, the weight of the camera won't be as important then and a heavier one can help balance it out.
simple, the only program you need is mkv2vob, VERY fast, takes less than a minute for a 1.3gb file, and point it to a USB hard drive, then just plug that into the the PS3 and play it, perfect, takes around a minute and works!
It basically encapsulates it in a VOB, something the PS3 can read.
