^^^ I remember that thread now you've popped it up - I guess when the weather gets better these tyres will come back to me, I think I've just been spoilt by how good the sportracs have been in cold, icy conditions.
It does pay to get genuine stuff for mk1's, anything thats wasn't standard renault stuff on the car was mostly swapped for genuine and the car was sooooo much better as a result.
Is the clutch cable a genuine renault one and routed the correct way? if its a pattern part throw it away as all it will do is ruin the new pedal assembly.
Doesn't help that theres no info on the clutch - could be a heavier uprated one which is so not needed on a standard willy.
whats the...
Thats f**king awesome - I'd love to make a find like that.
Really do like these but I've been put off any major interest by the amount of sheds I've seen parked up and abused...
Hmm pistonhead awaits :)
Right, I've given in, I was going to put the sportlines on when I did the dampers but thats going to take longer than I thought. SO! I'll stick them on in the meantime and see how I get on. Won't hurt for a few weeks if I'm struggling and I can then look into getting some custom springs made up...
I know!
If you look at the first pictures see that kerb I'm parked next to? well I checked against that, if I lowered the car at all I'd rip the splitter off trying to get on that kerb, and thats a fairly low kerb!
These sports seem to be lower that my williams was but somehow look much...
I know what your saying matey but yours is already lighter being a cup, if you look at both our side on pics yours looks the same as mine is now on std springs!
I wouldn't know what to ask for! I wanted some for the williams but when I asked me about poundage I just went errr....
I think the car looks high if you take a picture of it low down, 99% of the time you see a car stood up as does everyone and it looks fine to me :)
Wash and polish, but in warmer times methinks.
Just out of curiosity too I went upto comet/B&Q - you know those hefty speedbumps up there? - the front was 10mm away from them max! Didn't bother going to a few other places after that lol.
Ignore the camera phone, takes a decent ish picture but changed all the colours slightly!
I decided today to go round to places on what would be a usual week for me, things like work, shopping, mates houses basically everywhere I take the car day in day out... I did this to see what would...
made in germany - just been for a blast and its much better now its dry and warmer! think I'll get the wheels alligned and take it from there - adapted my pressures too much happier with the balance.
Well I mean they're always listed as summer tyres, rather than all weather tyres but yeh they should be able to be used all year round just like any tyre.
It's 3 degrees outside - I'm going for a play :)
Maybe I'm asking too much of a more summer orientated tyre in winter? I do nights so it tends to be always -1 or something like that when I go to work and get home!
f**k it I'll make a decision in the summer! The thing thats pissing me off the most is the skipping on near to full lock - I...
This is what I don't get, they've always served me well but these are total poo lol, I'm going to swap back over the weekend to the ph2's and see how I get on.
I might aswell be in a 1.2 with budgets on for all the fun I can have with it at the moment :(
Since I swapped from the ph2 alloys to my refurbed turinis the car is rubbish!
I've had GSD3's on my last 3 cars and always rated them so I was happy to find these turinis with them already on 6mm tread all round..
The car is simply crap though! it WILL NOT turn without slipping, it won't...
On top of this servicing are other things that need to be done regardless of mileage
Airbags and pretensioner system changed every 10 years.
So ph1 peeps anyone spent a fortune doing this yet? :) infact anyone planning on doing this at all?!
^^^ well mines leaking again. although its a tiny leak compared to last time, checked my fix and thats fine so it must be creeping though from somewhere else...
When the cars flat it doesn't leak - at work we have a slightly dipped car park so the car faces downwards, if I park it upwards it...
Hardly fill mine up but it doesn't tend to get dirty enough to need to use it! The missus' fiesta one is tiny, that gets filled up often! The 172 and the willy's seems to last for ages.
