Had a go at sorting out my engine bay today before my inlets get matched in couple of weeks. I think the results look prety good, complements the othe mods quite well. Had a go at colour coding the engine cover and spraying the inlets and fuel rail which was suprisingly easy. Let me know...

I went for an OMP brace, really stiffens the car up. Iv got a non cup 172 so slightly softer set up anyway but now you can really give it the beans in the twisties and it copes really well, nice and flat!! Only took 10mins to fit!!

Yeah, im having mine done on the 14th by Jam Sport and im not expecting huge gains but combined with a bit of weight saving and better breathing mods im hoping to notice little difference. More MPG too! Strengthend up the front end by fitting a strut brace Wed, makes a much better handling...

My headlamp washers have randomly stopped working, is this a common problem and how do you remove them/fix them????:S

Just remembered having to "crab" the car back home cos the axle was bent, not a fun journey!!!! lol

I done almost exactly the same thing about a year ago. New rear axle, air bag, wheel and re upholstered seat and oh £2k later it was fixed!!!!:D

Right guys, I have an Iceberg Mk2 172 and have a bit of a dilema!!! I have a blue samco induction hose and was originally going to get a anthracite strut brace but unfortunatly I could only manage to get a red OMP brace as I didnt fancy the Ktec chrome one!!! The next step is now either...

Yeh im going up there tomorow for some suspension work done on my 172!!! Glad to hear the inlets are worth doing because im on the list as soon as they get some matched inlets in!!! Cant wait!!!:approve:

haha, fair enough mate!! Yeah the decat really gives it the sound you want, yeah but think of it this way you only have to do it once a year and think of the extra bhp you'd get!!! :)

Yeah im going to be ordering one for my 172 in the next couple of weeks but im in sidcup and they are in staffs!! Shouldnt be too difficult to do yourself to be honest mate if you have had a go at changing a system before. Might just need 2 pairs of hands!!!

Yeah I have the decat from Ktec. I do like the Yozza but your right it is a bit expensive, I dont want to get too silly with it and get away from the spirit of the hothatch just a bit of a better soundtrack to go along with it!!

I have EBC fast road discs with Greenstuff pads at the moment. Id like a new exhaust next, the Ktec stealth on it at the moment is fine but I quite like the idea of having a system with a visable tailpipe, any recomendations?

Iv had the same problem with doing mine a few times and the only way I can do it is to take the engine cover off and get someone with small hands to do it!!! Really wasnt thought out very well!!

Ok cool, im up there on Wednesday to get me a strut brace and have the inlets done so the 90mile trip back so be a good opportunity to see how it goes after they have been done!!! :) Going to the Lakeside meet on sunday too so im sure il bump into someone thats had them done.
