    Checking the timing

Hi, So I want to do a timing check on my 182, as far as I know the procedure is like this: remove camshaft end caps to expose the grooves Rotate the crank until the pin slots in the correct hole on the crank and see if the horseshoe tool slots in the cams with ease. The thing is my 182 had an...

    Rear brake disc wear

Mine were refurbed 2 years ago and at the begining it was fine, now the outer disc edge started to rust again, like there's no contact with the pad there. It's so annoying. I have a theory on thist though: the car sits outside so moisture creeps on that area, slightly eats the metallic compound...

    Foggy headlight

Hi there, I just opened one of my headlights the other day due to one of the supports being snapped and boy it was probably the most difficult thing I ever did on the car. The factory glue that holds the unit together is almost heat resistant but anyway.. I managed to repair the damage, put it...

    Brake pad deposits - DS2500

Yeah I know they're not a track pad but I don't have a track car either. I visit the track 2 max 3 times per year (unfortunately) and I don't abuse the brakes. I have some guys that do multiple laps on them without issues, I was thanking that maybe I did/do something wrong somewhere

    Brake pad deposits - DS2500

Hi, After the last trackdays the pads lay an uniform deposit on the discs which also causes a light judder. I have the 197 brembo conversion with ds2500 pads and 300mm scenic brembo discs (which are new). I like to think that I bed in the pads properly. I only do 2 max 3 laps on a 4km track and...

Alternative to 280mm discs- Brembo conversion

Hi, As I have a friend with a NA Miata and he was looking for a big brake kit, I've seen they also provide that kit with the Clio 197 calipers and 280mm discs. Nice thing is that the discs they sell are re-drilled 280x28mm thick discs from a Nissan Almera Tino which is 5x114,3 as standard. I...

High performance pads that still cope on the road.

also I'm starting to question wether I should get some ferodo ds performance rear pads (I'm running the brembo 197 calipers on the front with 300mm discs and ds2500 pads) to balance the braking performance as some say that a step above road cheap pads on the rear makes some difference

High performance pads that still cope on the road.

As I seen this has been brought up here, are the 197 rear calipers a direct swap to the clio 1*2s?

    172 cup front-end refresh parts

197 Brembo calipers rebuild- HELP! :(

me again with an update: So I decided to finally machine some proper caliper brackets, and because I didn't want to hassle with drilling the calipers to make some "pms style" brackets for the 280mm discs that I have- I went to the 300mm disc route so I took the necessary measurements, made the...

    Foggy windows

Hi everyone, So this time of the year is foggy windows back again. Did a search on this subject but looks like I covered most common issues so far: AC works spot on, changed some seals couple of days ago, did a refill and leak test and it's fine. Pollen filter is nice and clean and dry I can't...

197 Brembo calipers rebuild- HELP! :(

I always apply ceratec on all contact points but that didn't help. When I'll get some proper brackets I'll do the spring clip trick that you said, but I'm hoping the brackets are the issue here and once I get new ones I'll get rid of this Thx!

    Clio 182 Cup Calipers

You probably bought the wrong calipers, parts listed in autodoc ar not always compatible, you have to double check. But tbh, I would rebuild the old calipers with new pistons and seals plus bleed nipples. The seized nipple you have there might be removed with some serious heat on it. Not impossible

Et is not a problem, you add a spacer and that's it, std is Et45 so you might aswell leave it like it is

    Powerflex bushes and koni dampers

I installed them without that insert on some gaz shocks and I was careful not to tighten the bolt too much, that insert stops you to do just that and prevent damage to the bush

    16x6.5 wheels on a 182 cup?

Fit or no fit is one but the way it will look is another matter. Trust me, it will look awkward on 6,5" rims, let me show you some examples as to why that is This site is quite a useful tool, I encourage people to use it So, see how the 205/45 tyres sits on 7" vs 6.5"? It's sidewall is almost...

    16x6.5 wheels on a 182 cup?

I wouldn't fit 6,5" wheels with std size clio 182 tyres which is 205/45 16. It will look as the wheel is too narrow for the tyre. For example, I remember when I had some 195/50 15 tyres that have been fitted to 6" wide rims - they looked totally wrong, it was clear that the rim is too narrow...
