Changed mine today after the original cable decided to jam my throttle open whilst driving home pooped it big time, Anyway really simple to do just a bit awkward as there is not alot of space but only took me 15 mins to change and it's made such a difference to the pedal feel now it's really...

Right it's not going into 5th gear at all now as soon as I try to put it into 5th and bring the clutch pedal up there is a whining/groaning noise and then it pops out of gear. Every other gear works perfect apart from 5th. Somebody must have and idea what could be up with it?

How loud is the noise from yours? Mine is really loud alarming loud infact.

My 172 has suddenly developed a whine/squeel in 5th gear. It only happens when I come of the accelerator but when I accelerate the noise goes away, all gears are easy and smooth to engage nothing feels abnormal. Strange how the noise only comes from 5th gear anybody know what the problem could be?

I had that problem with mine f*****g pain in the hole.

Mine is doing exactly the same thing ordered a new cable from renault for £28 today hopefully it cures the problem

Yep should do mate they are a progressive spring so in theory the harder you push the better they perform, that's they theory anyway lol.
