Had a nice little race with one of these today.
He was a few cars ahead of me at the lights and rocketed off so I worked my way around the other cars and caught up to him on a curve where he slowed up and let me pass, till we got a to the next set of lights. He was behind me, and I pulled off...
Yep, I know Im dissapointed in the low down power of the 172/cup, and Im sure there are many cars out there that could overtake a 172/cup if caught below prime rpm.

Well its not juddering, Ive had cars with disks that needed to be skimmed and this was nothing as juddery as that.
More like a gentle increasing and decreasing of braking at low speeds.
Anyway Ill take it to ranult next week and ask
nope, non of that, just a kinda increase and decrease of braking at low speed with my foot steady on the brake pedal.
The breaking is actually very smooth at high speed hard braking
How do I know for sure if I have warped disks?
During light breaking at low speed, there is a kind of increase and decrease in breaking even though my foot is steady on the brake pedal.
I think another thing to be considered, but to a lesser extent is altitude and fuel used. Oh and temperature at time of testing.
One of our local motoring mags (Car Magazine - http://www.cartoday.co.zawww.cartoday.co.za) testeded the 172 in May last year (which means a mk1) down at the coast...
Mine squeaks on full lock...got a feeling its the suspension cos it happens when the wheel moves up and down, but only on full lock...weird...maybe something is rubbing on something else
