i think they assess it by how often certain cars have accidents, its likey that for a first time driver, a 1.6 focus will be cheaper to insure than a 1.2 dynamique.
nice, but i think its abit of a money pit, after the excitement of the look wears off the urge for more power would be even stronger than it usually would, which usually ends up in selling (loosing abit) and buying a 2.0

In conclusion, if money provides id go with what needster said and try to find one with warranty. I recommend a thorough test drive, as it was pretty evident i set my expectations too high...
