Anybody tried using a clio v6 ball joint. I know they are different to the 1*2 part as they push the hub much further forward. I'm not 100% sure if they are longer though. I don't think they are from memory. If they are ok, it will be a bolt on bolt off mod. Just an idea.
If my measurements and drawings are all correct then its should turn out to be a very simple install. The only one off parts will be the driveshafts, engine mounts, gearbox mount and usual exhaust setups. Gear selector arms and cables are all off the shelf. Furtunatly designed and tested by gt40...
I'm using a 6 speed non quattro 01E transaxle. 034 in the states are running 1200hp through one. At the moment, I'm not really hunting for big numbers and 0-60 times etc. I've done that before and it didn't make for a fun car or ownership. The whole goal is to make the car a bit more of a weapon...
No, not a lover of moonlight blue personaly. The colour I really want is as about as lairy as you'll get but I'm not sure it'll look right with a ph1 front. Might look into fitting a ph2 front as its much cheaper than the ph1 stuff and has a bigger front grill which will aid my cooling issues...
I've got a mk1 mini miglia. I built a 270hp turbo'd 1460 with bmw k1200rs head, quaife dog box etc etc. Was utter s**t so I sold the stupidly expensive motor to buy my clio v6 which is now my current project whilst slotting a 2.7 Audi S4 bi turbo in the back.
Money no object, it'll be an Audi...
Let me get this right. You want to buy a moderatly quick car that handles like s**t in Newzeland? Why not get a stomping great v8 ute that will probably stick with the 1.3 on the bends yet destroy it in a straight line?
1.3 4 pot fwd over 5.0+ v8 rwd = epic fail.
Forgot to mention the whole car is to be repainted again sorry guys. Might be 1 of 4 colours this time, one being Nocturne as I still love it. Will include full engine bay repaint too. I got pretty pissed off with the stone chips so I'd love to fit a full front venturesheild kit this time. All...
Yeah heat has always been an issue even with the stock engine. This is one of the main reasons I'm going down the road of a large single turbo. At least this way the heat is much more localised and manageable than two units on each bank heating every inch of the rear. Fingers crossed it'll be...
Nope! Lol Going down a road that alot sweeds and Gatebil nutters go just to be a bit different. Holset HX40 using equal length tubular manifolds merged in to one. I do have the intercoolers but the only option I have is the use of a large chargecooler above the inlet manifold that will be...
Haven't posted on here for ages. Thought I'd update things as I've had the car off the road for a good year now and its had no engine for 6 months of that. I ended up collecting bits and bobs to make a n/a screamer. The biggest part being a sadev gearbox which later fell through. Because of...
Well after 5 years of ph1 V6 motoring, me and my missus have finally ventured out and bought a ph2 172 as a tidy everyday car. The last owner was magpie (Dawn) so I was confident it was a good example. After a few days hmmming and arrring i drove down to High Wycombe to hand over a deposit if it...

Ha! You pissed my brother right off!! He was parked next to you in the Lupo. He spent ages cleaning it the day before and about 8 months polishing his prized split rims (its a VW thing). Not that he was expecting to be entered into anything to be fair. The Panda was nice too.
I thought it was...
I've been lucky enough to drive this car a few times and its no let down. With the new TWR development cylinder heads, cams and inlet combined with Simons previous modifications ie trophy exhaust, ph2 gearbox etc etc it goes like the clappers. The detail around the car makes the car, a lot of...
I f**king hate looking through 15 odd pages of a project only to find it nowhere near finished. Just ended up a stripped out and fully caged 850. Far from a BTCC rep. Shame as I love these cars.
With out a single doubt the best Porsche I have ever seen!!!!! I always thought one of the GT racecars would make an epic looking road car. I was right but never thought anyone would ever do it. I WANT!!!
Complete lack of imagination spraying that car white! Bit suprised they did a half assed attemped at spraying the wheels. They didn't even remove the tyres.
I was at Autosport with Dave who built the v8 Quattro. I helped my best mate who owns OCS paint get the bodywork straight. I ended up spending hours and hours polishing it. Its by far one of the best cars Ive ever layed my eyes on and was very lucky to have even the slightest part to play with...
