Why not try one of the following , good value kits to start you off....
http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products,74,toView_227.html
http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Products,74,toView_242.html (I have a soft spot for Duragloss)...
If it has wax or polish on, you could use a magic eraser (JML Direct) to remove it Very good product and worth having
Cant go wrong with Rich's answer though
A good choice is Carlack 68 followed by a couple of coats of Collinite
Cleanyourcar.co.uk have a deal on it at the mo for £25

Plus you can also use it on the cars bodywork as he does
Space for wires at the back of the HU can be a bit of a problem. When i fitted mine i had the top of the dash off as i was fitting new components at the same time and this makes it easy to pull the wires into the right place and allow the HU to sit in its llocation easily
I really like this HU but dont have the cash just a tad over the £300 budget but there is one on ebay at the moment cheaper - proper audiophile HU

Match it to these --very easy to fit them and they get a great write up on...
I fitted one of these in the fb's car and we paid £80 for it i think off ebay NEW and Delivered Not had a problem with it , bluetooth is ok not perfect but easy to have a conversation , sound is good but yeah you cant add an amp and the HU comes with its own remote aswell
Used to be fine on my NHB civic too im assuming the black gold is similar , although having said that i did do an older civic last autumn which needed the rd twins out for and that was a black gold style colour
It was more the colour combo stumbled across it on ebay (the wheels are for a merc lol) just wondered how it looked the other way round as silver lip black centre is so common these days but im not sure if i like it or not
Thanks for doing it tho
It comes with Windows Vista and so far itas been nothing but trouble
Emials stuck you can't delete eventually fix that and now 3 days ive been trying and it keeps telling me "your pop3 server has not responded in 60 seconds would you like to blah blah blah" tried removing account...
:(
With my NHB civic I could do a touchless wash more often than not using one of these and a PW , My car had been fully detailed and wore 2 coats of Collinite and always came up gleaming and we all know how bad black cars are
Some good results one of the things i miss since splitting...
Dont use SRP and EGP so i cant comment but what you say does make sense now, im sure Rich will be along soon to advise you on using them
Yeah roll on the summer more rain knowing our luck
Just what i was thinking
You will be able just to give it another wash or QD depending where the car was parked overnight and then wax or seal it
I love the menz finish but it can be a b**ch to work with, on a clio tho FF is all you should need Ive never had to use anything...
