Renault c***s! Car at Dealer and not allowed to get it!

Something doesn't add up here. You paid RRP, yet it's preregistered? If a car's preregistered then it is second hand, so you pay second hand prices?

    £801 Cambelt

Don't do it yourself if you haven't done anything like this before. The pulleys/vct system isn't 'locked' so it's very easy to bend some valves by saving yourself a small amount over going to someone who can do it. JMS are great - go there. Most impressed! Other than that, any of the...

    New Thumbgrips...

I have to agree, they just look too thin and don't suit it.

    Yes - most annoying.

    Facelift Headlights on S Works

Clio headlights are glued. Well and truly. Don't bother - it'll end in tears!

    2008 Lotus Exige S - 2 months on

Cheers all :-) The colour is a grower as has been said, and I wanted something more subtle as it's all too easy to go out and get a 'supercar' in a ridiculous colour - but IMO they don't really suit it - it's not a Lambo and as quick as it is, it will never have the same image. And the noise...

Yes indeed - and you could sleep in them :)

    2008 Lotus Exige S - 2 months on

Injectors, cooler, forged rad and new pulley, and maybe the braking upgrade - rest of it is about perfect!

Had a tracker fitted to it the other week - hopefully never need it though!

    2008 Lotus Exige S - 2 months on

Seems to be fine - it doesn't seem to get *too* wet in there, and most of the fancy trickery is out the way anyway. Corrosion will probably be it's worst enemy but I'll keep an eye out for it to see how it goes. Majority of the stuff under there is plated or alloy anyway...

    2008 Lotus Exige S - 2 months on

Well it's been nearly 2 months now, and it's flown by. Not been the smoothest ride - it needed a new radiator a few weeks ago after the end cap let go, and with the arrival of the Trophy I've now got 3 money pits so progress is slow! However, my new seats have arrived and I <3 them - don't...

    Stop - oil light?

Did you fill it on your drive by any chance? Check it on the flat. Also find a specialist who can work out if your oil pump is pumping...

    Microsoft License

I believe in the old days for that you needed an external connector licence, but that may be SQL as it's Friday and nearly beer time.

Windows 2000 Data Center Gurus - help?

Ah, resource allocation - sorry. Figured I'd missed the point somewhere there! Yes, allows you to put your OS in a bit of memory and a couple of processors, and one app in a bit more, and another app in another.

Windows 2000 Data Center Gurus - help?

    1) No - what way do you want to 'partition' the hardware? If you're buying a big fockoff box and using VMware or similar then that's your partition, other than that you can't? 2) Bugger. It does. That's a f**king problem for me. You need a minimum of a DL785 then, as a CPU is a physical...

Windows 2000 Data Center Gurus - help?

    1) Hardware partitioning? For what? It installs as you would any other Windows. It's just licenced by CPU instead of per installation. 2) What has to have at least 8 CPUs? 3) Yes. I think you'll get away with HP Generation 5 kit (get it whilst you still can!) but there's some stuff in...

fitting xenons to a non sport?

Both. You need the motor from your Xenons and he needs the motor from his standard lights.

Adding Clio Climate Control To Clio With Air Con

So you'd have to fit the rain sensitive wipers as well - although that's a good thing that I wish I had too!

    Xenon Colour differance?

187? The headlamps should warm up to be a very crisp white - if not then they may have swapped the 'bulb' but it may just be a case of you looking at them from a slightly different angle. The lens makes most of the 'blue' tinge that's seen in factory-fit Xenons.

    Clio Trophy No.162/500 - Restoration

We're loving it - really nice. Only Friday night did it upset me, after nearly 20 Peronis it jiggled me a bit too much! It truly looks awesome and every time we see it we comment on it. Looking forwards to my BTB :-)

For the audio boys on here!

Alpine only do DAB on their DVB-T boxes, a bit shortsighted IMO but it's their call.

fitting xenons to a non sport?

Christ, I got mine for half that. Mint, too. You'll need to keep your adjuster motor as apparently they differ - looked the same on mine but swapped anyway. Everything else was just plug-in.

    Clio Trophy No.162/500 - Restoration

Another update after another hard week of graft! The car is nearing completion of 'stage 1' - the cheaper bits of work! This week has been changing the doorcards, changing the speakers for JBL GT5s in the rear and GTOs in the front, cleaning the car over and getting the engine bay tidied up a...

Adding Clio Climate Control To Clio With Air Con

New UCH as well. Very, very expensive job unless you find a donor. Let me know how you get on if you do go for it, as I'd like to do it.

    Red button

    Look up... ^^

    Red button

Ahhhh, I know something the almighty Revels does not! On/off button will make it go quiet, on/off button a second time f**ks them to answer phone. Although I thought you were on about the app 'Red Button' or whatever it is. Mildly amusing for 10 seconds.

    182 Cup...what upgrades?

Headlights out of a FF. Where they could deem those as 'weight reduction' I don't know. I think the total difference in weight is equivalent to my testicle.

Photo potentially to be used in a TV programme!

Yeah, definitely - and the flipside of it is nobody gets to being a paid professional without being a free hobbyist beforehand. It's all swings and roundabouts!
  30. Mike_182

Photo potentially to be used in a TV programme!

Well done - and certainly deserved IMO. The only point I'll raise to defend those that have moaned about you doing it for free, is that you're taking food out of the mouths of the professional's children. If the media can do everything for free because hobbyists are happy to let them use...
