    New Meg RS250 pics

I saw this earlier and was thinking about it and the 200 - Renault have tried to do what BMW did a few years ago - radical new designs. Problems with that: The BMWs were actually very good cars as well. These things never work in round 2...

    50 - 130 in 8secs or so

I nearly did that to mine, power-wise. Still miss that car.

    non-vvt factory Clios RS? WTF

The VVT DOES NOTHING at 5,000rpm. The VVT operates at <2,000rpm to save the lumpy idle only. If it's not working the the power would be off the mark on the whole range. By a long way.

    non-vvt factory Clios RS? WTF

I didn't say it ran lean, I said it ran as lean as possible for emissions regulations. More fuel = more power in this area. As far as top end goes, yes, it's near on perfect for performance, but fuelling is magic and there's various 'perfects' depending on how you look at it.

    Well impressed

£800 on the Lotus. £800 on the Clio. Go figure...

Looks like a red cross to me!

    non-vvt factory Clios RS? WTF

Don't know. Apparently they run incredibly lean up to that point then because regs allow them to they go to town afterwards. I guess the 'true' answer depends on the product someone's flogging to you at the time, although realistically it's a combination of all of the above.

    non-vvt factory Clios RS? WTF

Fuelling, apparently. After 5k ish the Euro emissions regs don't matter a toss so they can start the bilge pump. Hence why a remap can do so much.

    Layering SRP

SRP on a middle-of-the-road pad is awesome stuff. For how little it removes it can make a shed look awesome. However you can't layer it.

    Replacement Trophy Suspension

A lack of understanding. Just because they came on the car, doesn't make them naff Renault bits. quite the contrary, they're massively expensive motorsport specification dampers...

    Replacement Trophy Suspension

Keep the Sachs stuff. As has been said a couple of times: You're not going to better the standard stuff for less than 800 nicker. If you decide you're binning off your Sachs stuff, send them this way. Mine will want doing soon but if I can have a set ready, well, win really!

    Track rubber!!

I use A048s currently on the Exige, very good tyres but with the LTS compound differences you get quite violent shakes at 88mph upwards. Apparently this is a 'feature' - the R888s are also fairly well rated and don't have this issue.

    Clio Trophy No.162/500 - Restoration

Righty! Finally had chance to get some more done to it. New polisher has turned up courtesy of cleanyourcar.co.uk: And it's incredible. Utterly sublime - such a joy to work with. It doesn't take any effort at all to haul around because of it's (lack of) weight, the speed governor is spot on...

    3g down for anyone else?

It spat it's dummy out earlier but seems to be ok. Have to say I'm not impressed, T-Mobile I had 4 hours outage of data in 3 years, on O2 in a few months I've had 5 days out!

    Logitech G25 - £99.99 this weekend @ Play.com

Nah. Logitech and MS have a very, very good relationship and it's purely that the 360 uses a different 'language' to talk to controllers compared to the PC/PS3/All other USB devices.

    Logitech G25 - £99.99 this weekend @ Play.com

Yep! Shame they haven't engineered in the required hardware (even if it's on a second connection) to get it working with the 360. Bit short-sighted IMHO... As that was their 'excuse' for the G25.

    Vodafone rant (looong sorry)

O2 did worse though, had 2 contracts with them about 9 months apart. Phoned them up, asked them to cancel the one that was due for renewal please. They agreed and did it, but somewhere along the lines it all went horrifically wrong and they sent me a bill for ~£500. Every time I spoke to them...

    Vodafone rant (looong sorry)

Voda have done this for years - several times we've 'cancelled' contracts only to be told we have to give them notice in writing. I pointed out that they were s**t, and T-Mobile, O2 and Orange all take you saying over the phone, and it's just them that feel that they can bully people into...
