OK i have used some nails as removal pins just find ones of similar size to the holes , push them and you will feel them working

Give it a chance matey , mines used to have a flickering problem when the light where switched on that i never managed to fix , try changing the bulbs and checking the connections would be my first thought and see if it works , new clocks are not expensive if needs be to replace
