Hmmm, the flicker's gone now, back to how it was before i moved house! Only things i'd done were remove and replace the VGA cable (which i'd tried before with no luck) and restored the colours to the default settings (which i hadn't manually changed). Strange, but happy!

The initial turn on or when you reboot it takes a while and you'll have that white screen with the little clock icon in the middle but you shouldn't get that once it's all set up. Mine turns on in a few seconds now. Check out the auto on/off feature too...
