Right ok, thanks for clarifying that Fred.
If one dics has grooves around 1mm deep over a 3cm band adjacent to the hub ( yet the discs have only covered 10000miles ) what will happen if I only change the pads?
Will it just lead to excessive pad wear?
Thanks
Sam
Go for it!
The sound makes it a much more enjoyable experience.
Just get the air feed sorted and you won't lose power.
Pipercross Viper seems to be just about the best and you may gain a few HP.
There is one for sale in the for sale section.
Sam
Right ok.
I read a few posts on here saying you need to take the caliper off before you did anything?
19mm seems to fit snug but 17mm is too small.
Maybe it is 18mm which would explain the slipping but isn't this a weird measurement?
Edde if the disc has grooves around 1mm deep does it...
Ok thanks for the replies...
I find the bolts impossible to get to. A spanner just seems to slip right off and the wheel braces seem too big and clumsy and I don't want to round the head by twisting the bolt at the wrong angle!
I just tried to remove the hub to gain easier access to the...
Ok I will give it another crack tomorrow.
The inside of the OSF disc is rough and is scoured with grooves about 2mm.
Will this need to be replaced?
Thanks
Sam
lol...
I went to take the bolts out but they won't come out because I can't get to them properly.
So I removed the shock so I could get to them square on but the then the caliper moves around?
Sam
I can't give them anymore force.
I can only just get at it with the shock in place but this is not square on so the head rounds a bit and just slides off.
WIth the shock removed the caliper just spins around :S
The garages are all saying they are booked until after easter!
Might have to...
Where is the best place to take it to be done and how long will it take?
I will ask them if the discs are warped but it has only been like it for about 5 miles and I have been using my handbrake/gears to slow myself down.
Sam
There should be two sticks with torx and screw driver head either end.
These are the right size.
Most of the exterior parts seem to be t40 whilst many of the interior parts are t30.
Sam
My back ones are just about limo black (not quite though) and the fronts are at a guess 40%.
Looks good IMO and with the front screen tinted blue doesn't look to van like I don't think.
I am returning mine back to standard but if you want to swap glass and cash my way I could be persuaded.
Sam
My brakes are grating as there is no pad left on the inside of the OSF wheel.
When I brake the sound absolutely awful and the disc is getting very rough.
I have bought the pads today and went to fit them but...
I cannot remove the caliper bolts. They just seem stuck on and exceptionally...
Not sure about the sizes but all you have to do is go into halfords and give the model name, make and year and they will ask if it is Lucas ADO or Bosch. It should say on your caliper what make you braking system is.
