Whoever told you -40mm doesn't lower it much is lying - its very noticable (and the back is just as low as the front). For the sake of £90, I'd try this first.
Apex springs will lower the most, and firm up the spongy ride nicely.
Check:
Stone chips on front bumper
General condition of where the plastic meets the metal (this can crack)
Tread on tyres (should be slightly lower on the inside of tyre)
Amount of disc / pad left
Decent clutch bite

Maz, phone the dealer the car had its last service at (even better if they were the supplying dealer) and they can fill you in on the details.
My local Renault garage are cnts and wouldn't do anything to help and deny that they can even find out.

Like you, I saw it but didn't hear it. Looked like a typically classy Renault ad. Better still it was followed by the "I see you baby" ad (don't think I'll ever get bored of watching that) :approve:
