Being advertised by young ladies and a camp French bloke, hasnt helped the 172s image.
Nicole and Papa (young lady and old bloke) didnt help the image at all either.
I am now wondering why I purchased my 0-60 in 7, 144mph, 172(ish)bhp, pocket rocket.
Oh yeah, so as I could cruise leisurely...
Get yourself a wet NOS kit.
50hp jet will take you over 200hp; you only need the NOS when you are accellerating; no body changes required as to fit TBs; you can take it with you when you sell your car.
Remove and seal over your hot air inlet. it is a waste of time.
Keep your cold air pipe connected, as this will only let cold air into the engine.
You will need to put something in the cold air feed to jam it wide open.....a section of cut induction hoze should do the job.
Or if you are...
Couldnt you build a nitrogen based air cooler? Sort of a thermos flask/double skinned pipe with a heat exchanger in that is filled with liquid nitrogen?
You could store ice lollies in it as well...
:=8-)
Autochoke or something similar. I think the 1.4rt still has an advance/r****d pipe & diaphragm ("dia-fram") which might have been damaged by red-lining your engine.
This might now be making the mixture too lean or too rich for the engine to start when it is cold. I guess it would be too...
When I have a child, Im going to call it "172".
Do car manufacturers follow a theme, like Sport for VW (golf & Polo), and wnk mags for ford (Fiesta & Escort)
I think they also oil the door & hatch hinges...and if you are lucky they will valet it too.
chogg....where else is there in the Basingstoke area then?
Not had your windscreen replaced recently?
The water can run in from the side and collect in the lowest point (often the middle) then spill out into the footwells. It happenned to me after an insurance job once. (A ford garage tried to put the windscreen in.)
Take it easy on then for the first hundred. Its not so much bedding in the compound, but bedding/sticking the tyre against the rim.
You drive too badly for the first few miles and it might just pop off or collapse into the rim.
One quote...worse than renault:
Bought a Seat from this man. Water was leaking into the car from the passengers door and water was leaking out of the engine through the water pump. could this crowd of chancers fix it ? no chance, they had the car on at least 12 occasions.
can I tell you...
