you can get heavy duty clips for cv boots, i had 2 split on me i ended up replacing both sides the final time with rubber ones and heavy duty clips havent had a problem since

172 engines always run hot you cant stop that so dont worry, as for the knock it will most likely be suspension

i've got 20mm on mine barron! got them off ebay just put clio spacers in and i got them in 2 days, their hubcentric and fit perfectly their simoni racing and came with longer bolts aswell. you going karting?
