On Orange, for £35 a month, I get 600 any network minutes, unlimited internet, unlimited texts and a HTC Desire. (18 month contract).
If you go for a 24 month contract you can get the same for £27.50
If you are rooted then you can use something like ShootMe which saves screenshots to your SD card when you shake the phone.
Otherwise you need to use the SDK to run adb commands (at least you do with the Nexus One)
This is sort of a Desire, it's a rooted Nexus One running Modaco's Desire port...
This is a decent review of the Incredible camera comparing it to the Nexus One's camera.
It would appear that the megapixel difference doesn't make any difference in the quality.
Never, unless they actually make a GSM version.
The HTC Incredible is a CDMA2000 phone and will not work on GSM systems, and there are virtually no CDMA2000 networks in Europe, they are all in Asia and the US.
Also, I suspect that it is a one carrier phone, as I don't think you can buy just...
Thats pretty much how I read the deal.
BBC want iPlayer on Xbox Live
MS consider it to be a premium extra and only want to put it onto the Gold membership.
The BBC are not legally allowed to do the deal as it's an all or nothing, they're not allowed to charge for it, or have it in a scenario...
Or you could just rip your own CD's, or you can use the Amazon Music app to download them direct to your phone, or you could even use iTunes to download them and then just copy them over to your HTC.
Also, I have just checked my SD Card on my phone.
There is a folder called "media" inside this folder there are additional folders "alarms", "notifications" and "ringtones"
So, create a folder called media, then inside that, one called notifications, then put your txt message tone in there.
IIRC they dn't even need to be in any specific directory.
Just connect the phone via USB, copy the MP3's onto the phone by dragging and dropping. When you disconnect the phone from USB it will scan the card and the MP3's will be available.
You might also be able to use the HTCSync app.
edit...
I'm trialing a nice little app at the moment.
Wave Secure (www.wavesecure.com)
It runs in the background of your phone and 99% of the time sits there doing nothing, until you lose your phone or it's stolen.
Then you log onto the web portal and then you can do the following:
1) Remotely lock...
If you don't have need for a car or desktop docking station or tri-band comms, then just get yourself an HTC Desire. (the Nexus has 3 metal contacts on the bottom of the shell for connection to these docks, the HTC only have the micro USB)
The HTC Sense UI is even better than vanilla Android...
Don't get a nexus if you want tethering and don't fancy rooting the device.
It doesn't support it out of the box. You will need to root it (and therefore invalidate your warranty) to install any tehtering apps.
The HTC Desire on the other hand (which is pretty much the same except it isn't...
By the look of it they've completly re-designed the motherboard and combined the GPU/CPU. The GPU is where a lot of the RROD problems come from. Maybe that'll fix the issues with overheating.
You beauty!!!
I F'ing loved this game as a kid. They used to have it in the arcade round the corner from my house. I spent so much money on that damn game.
I remember the frantic scrabbling to get another 50p out of my pockets for another credit as the fuse burns down on the dynamite and...
You need to turn your monitor the other way up before uploading. :rasp:
In all seriousness though, you will need a bit of editing software to do it. Windows Movie Maker will do the trick fairly easilly. Add the video, click rotate 90 degrees twice, save movie. Voilá
Maybe it's a dns problem.
Try using google DNS instead of the virgin defaults.
8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
either that or post the URL and I'll try for you.
IIRC Virgin only block port 25 incomming so you can't run your own mail server, you can still use SMTP to send mail.
edit: test your DNS by...
You're the one that signed the 18 month contract. :rasp:
Buying your way out of the existing contract would usually involve you paying the rest of the rental costs up front. So 9 * your monthly contract cost.
That's the way contracts work, and that's also why you get a phone for "free" with...
At current I am using android.modaco.com and http://www.cyanogenmod.com/. http://forum.xda-developers.com/ is meant to be some use as well.
These are more for rooting/flashing your phone than anything, but they also have somee helpful and very clever people on there.
The HTC Desire has been...
Correct, though it does also run over the top of Windows Mobile as well (thats what makes the HD2 work so nicely, as it hides Windows Mobile from you)
It's just HTC trying to make all their phones have the same polished look and feel no matter what OS they run on. (and it works as well
Been...
Win. I now have in my hand a Google Nexus One running HTC Sense.
There's some clever b*****ds out there (like the guys at android.modaco.com).
Best o both worlds. The sghtly better hardware in the Nexus (i.e. tri-band & dock compatibility) and the HTC Sense UI and it's extra polished...
I use my Nexus in my car system quite nicely, it just Bluetooths to my head unit and plays like that.
You can update it with any machine that can read/write to a usb memopry stick.
You plug the phone in using a (completly standard) usb cable, the memory card from the phone appears as a drive...
Ok, I'm about |-----| this close to selling my N1 now.
The HTC sense UI on top of Android 2.1 running on a Snapdragon is pretty damn slick.
It's also got some extra features over my N1. For instance, the exchange sync feature now syncs your calander directly into the phone calander as well...
I'm on an 18 month Dolphin 35.
500 anytime minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited Internet.
First glance at the HTC Desire is making me think that the UI is even better than the one on the Nexus.
Not sure about the hardware buttons yet, but that's probably because I have gotten usd to the weird...
