£1450? Theyve got to be taking the piss?! £500 more like. It needs a fair bit doing to it. For £1450 you could probably get a 100000 miler thats up and running.

Yep, actually. Driving on the same roads in both cars, the 172 waaaay outstops the Williams. The Willy ones arent quite as bad as I make out, but the braking performance in the 172 is seatbelt tensioningly good in comparison.
The brakes on the 172 are miles better than the ones on the Williams. Good thing that the Willy handles well, cos the brakes dont slow it down much for the corners....
Cups are 3mm lower and possibly with stiffer suspension? Guess the springs are different. I want to lower the mk1 by 30mm on stiffer springs. Probably Eibachs seeing as Ive not seen a bad word about them.
The rear wiper is a helpful £15,000,000.22 from your Renault dealer (plus VAT and fitting of 3 hours @£70/hour plus petrol money for them to rag your car round for a bit while they have it). Its a bargin.
Billabong - fair enough and lucky you that you have a good one. Let people know about it, but the problem is that there are far too many bad ones around.
People are not just complaining for the sake of it.
I dont think i could have another new Renault. Id get a 2nd hand one that I could take to a garage of my choice, but Im not being tied to Reg Vardy Sheffield for another 3 years for servicing to keep the warranty.
Id consider any car thats good, but next time Ill be looking for someone who has...
Welcome to the Renault experience! If you feel you would like to be screwed over some more, please do not hesitate to try my local Renault dealership - Reg Vardy, Ecclesall Road, Sheffield. I can guarantee you that youll be dis-satisfied with your time there.
Sounds like you are very lucky to...
17000 miles though. Thats less than our 3 year old 172! In 3 years time therell be hardly any Williams around at all, and one in good nick and with such stupidly low mileage should be able to command a decent fee.
I personally wouldnt pay more than £6k for a Willy now, but only because I dont...
Look on the for sale forum. Willy number 399 was up for sale for £9k with 17000 miles on the clock. A bit of haggling and you could have a nearly new one for 8.5 grand or so.....

Where did you get them from and who fitted them? If it was from a shop, you can just take them back and the shop are obliged to sort it out. Im not sure if you would be entitled to a refund, but if the goods are not in a fit condition, the shop would have to either repair or replaced.
There...
1) Williams - no doubt
2) 205 1.9 GTi (I know the 1.6 is meant to be better balanced, but the 1.9 has the extra go to go with the handling)
3) VTS/106 GTi - under rated and mocked by so many, but so quick. For a 1.6!
4) 5GTT - tin can with a turbo. Good plan.
5) 172/Cup - Im biased, but...

I dont want to get rid of my car just because the dealers are rubbish. Ill just go to the garage who did my MOT and wheel bearing change for £100 at the beginning of the week. Same work as Renault charge £210 for.
And the bonus is that my local One Stop dont thrash my car around for 3 miles...
