When you say Yokohama Parada's aren't good in the wet, I would ask a couple of things mate. a) were tyres to blame 100%, or was there some driver error? b) were you allowing for the wet in manner of your driving? c) how much tread was on your tyres? ie 2year old rubber on limit, isn't going to...

As already said mate, do your homework, and don't rush in to buy, there's plenty for sale. 2k should get you either a vgc phase 1 with lots of history, or an early phase 2. Phase 1 is better drivers car, phase 2 better spec and still a cracking little car. Or as said there's the Cup, 2k though...
