You need a volt meter to measure the voltage, then you will know which is positive. Or check the polarity on the old speakers, always a dead givaway! Haynes manual has a wiring diagram and that has the colours on it. If you have a matching colour on either side of the car (often brown) then...

I never drive at !20 if there is traffic or I feel it to be dangerous. I only have the one life and it wont survive high speed inpacts... I was purely stating that some cars are better set up to stop than some lower spec ones... At silly speed I know that reaction time will increase distance...

Turbo owners, I have a hissing at about 3,000 revs sounds like its coming from the dash. Could I have a vacume leak on the boost gauge.
