Halfords list it as "EP75W-80" which IF a Comma EP75W-80 is designed for use in Renault & Peugeot/Citroen boxes. It's also listed as a mineral GL4 rather than a GL4+ but it should still be okay in your JC5
Comma EP75W-80 gear oil
Yes as it meets GL4+ but either a synthetic or a mineral will do the job (however synthetic are a little more stable than mineral oils and have a higher film strength).
Any idea when this is likely to take place yet? I'm away for most of April and whilst I'm not the guest of honour i'd like to turn up and meet some of you
Yeah it is cheap Daniel and i've been told several times by others on here that we should really be adding another £100 to the job but thankfully my overheads are small-ish compared to others so I don't have to make £3K a month just to break even. I'm off to see a new workshop later this morning...
Agreed Comrade Cubster - See the one we had yesterday which came in for belts & dephaser which was rattling (Or was it)?

I appreciate that the cars aren't worth the £9k figures that they were years ago but still the job is the job and you can pay for...
Not going on the defensive here but some balance is needed to this discussion - Another minor point that is always overlooked on forums and FB groups (How I despair at the FB groups some days) is that we are legitimate trading business rather than DIYer's taking cash jobs in the evenings - A...
It's a red herring that cable - I've seen it many times and don't actually know myself what it is for. It is however nothing to worry about but I believe it is something for either an auto setup or an additional H02 sensor.
Check the earth to the back of the gearbox and the main earth strap between the gearbox and chassis rail is all I have. Other than that, I need to see it i'm afraid.
Mick
As above, the passenger seat unit and pre-tensioner unit have both fired which will have logged "Crash Context" data meaning the SRS ECU will need replacing/resetting (See Tachosoft in the traders section as this is a service they offer). It may also be worth having the car plugged in on some...
If you have Xenon lights unplug the ballast pack, replace the fuse and see if it blows after that. It still sounds like a live is going to ground though rather than a component fault.
It's a short to + so nothing to do with the earth. You need to find where on that live feed is touching metal (Thus blowing the fuse) or which component is pulling too much current. To do this you will have to do some old fashioned work i'm afraid.
£4k is just too much to shell out mate. It's nice but whilst I'm not a car sales man there's no meat to be had here (for me at least). After buying it for what I want I'd be lucky to break even breaking it.
Would sooner buy what I need and not have the hassle
Are you trying to make me your Padowan learner? As much as I'd love a Cup i'm sticking with the Black thing I've got.
Looking at a set of Titans later but would sooner give my money to someone I kind of know.
The top mounts cannot create a noise though (unless part of the assembled mounting unit is free to move) due to them being "solid" - are you sure it's not worn dampers or other part on the suspension/steering causing the noise?
Did you buy them new?
How old are they?
Mick
