That is a drop with no measurements, that's a drop with 60mm apex springs. Simple.
When measured it was near enough correct, sack all this subframe crap, if you measure to the highest point of the arch from the floor, you get (and can see) pretty much a 2" difference. Which is 60mm.
Cheers chaps, if I could be bothered I'd pop out now, tyre shine and take some decent photos, but honestly, I canny be bothered. It must be said though, 17's are fun. Had the back end all squiffy earlier and it feels like in gear pull is much better due to wheel weight.
All in all the vred...
Are you mental? 60mm is 2 inches. Most non sports have about 3.5+ of arch gap. 60mm isn't going to kill anyone.
The back is FAR too low, you've done something massive wrong, either ordered the wrong springs or god knows what.
I'll dig out some pics of my old old car on 60mm...
100% agree, but it was cold, and I'd just lugged around 8 wheels and tyres, far too worn out for that stuff
I agree, the car does feel like a rocket ship and 10x better handling wise on the lighter and smaller 17's.
Cheers mate, the meaty tyres make motorway driving bloody lovely too.
Re: Utterly Filthy Zed.. Last clean of the year:
Well, they're on and looking lovely (IMO). Full set of vred winter tyres too.
Again only shoddy phone photos, I'll get some proper ones on the camera as soon as I get a chance.
Re: Utterly Filthy Zed.. Last clean of the year:
It really is easy, it's hammering it down today but the car still looks a lovely bright silver!
Very nice! Agree on the spacers comment, makes such a difference. I don't get why they ever came so narrow at the back?
Re: Utterly Filthy Zed.. Last clean of the year:
Nice to see you're back.
You missed it but I could well be buying a facelift in the new year, just need to see if the seller comes through.
Re: Utterly Filthy Zed.. Last clean of the year:
Honestly, it's not.
Silver does hide it well. It was so dirty the wash mitt almost stuck to the paint as I tried to wash it.
Cheers though, benders.
Oh, and Alan , "wee guy"? We've clearly not met.
Re: Utterly Filthy Zed.. Last clean of the year:
I'm waiting to hear from the owner of the other car when his personal circumstances sort themselves.
Most of my upgrades are interchangeable so I can move things over, really I just like upgrading things so can't help myself :o
The miles seem...
So I'm currently doing heavy mileage for work, 150 a day, most of which are on the m25 (the road that makes your car more filthy than any other).
The car was so dirty I washed every panel twice, bumpers three times, a few recent down-pours had cleaned it up a bit, but it was hanging. 100% the...
I'm happy to go in mine, forgot the insurance issue. Bummer! We'll sort it out mate.
Can do sailor, is there a back way from there? Or would I have to shoot back up to the '25?
H'exellent!
I'm giving this my all and am round about a probable certainty now.
My car is more dirty than any car I've ever owned right now though (not joking) so I need to wash it Saturday before I fully commit.
Sam, fancy a lift with the top doon and split the funds? You can even drive it if you want...
