what did u modify in order to get the extra intake ???

on my mk2 ph2 1.2 16v the air box has a cold air feed, however this is stupidly tucked in behind the headlight which must be restricting the intake... has anyone ever modified this themselves ?? i was thinking of getting a K&N perofrmance panel filter and modifying the cold air feed on the...
