Yeah the sony CDXMP40 is a good little head unit ! My mate has it and it sounds good with his 6x9s ! The biggest speakers you can get in the door (without modifying) are 5.25 inch (13cm)

Ive put the crossovers and tweeters in the space for the 10cm speakers and put the 5.25" component woofer in the door !
How do i go about putting 13 cm speakers in the doors of my mk1 ph3 1.2 ? I know that there are the brackets for the speakers in the door and that ill have to cut the door plastic bit but I dont know how to get the cables into the door.......hmmm... there is a gromet in the door and a weird...

Good if your going in for spl comps and such, but not for everyday use ! TOO expensive. This bloke clearly wants to show it off to his mates and impress the ladies (LOL) Go for the alpine, very good sound looks and not a bad price ! all around winner !
depends on whether the sounds coming from your head unit or an amp ?? If its coming from your head unit then thinner cable is usually sufficient ! but if its runnin from an amp, especially a powerful one then the thicker and better quality the better !
but itll sound poo ! the whole shelf will vibrate and sound a mess ! Do it right and make or buy an acoustic shelf made out of MDF ! Its really easy to make one and will only cost about 20 - 30 quid !
