Auto Finesse product test 2 : Dressle

Hi James, No so far sadly, no - didn't get a chance this weekend due to many many miles. I have booked this in for Sunday 15th Dec for an engine bay detail (lots of plastic), as well as a full wheels off detail on the weekend I return home for Xmas (21/22nd Dec). Full write up to come then...

    986 Boxster S

Find me a decent one for £11k and I'll be happy to buy it. But the two I've seen locally were really rough. I'm in no rush though, so will continue to hunt!

    986 Boxster S

£15k finds me an OK one. But starting to think whether I should shove the £5k extra into the mortgage as £15k sat on the road not moving for weeks is a bit of a waste tbh. I'd get just as much enjoyment out of the 986.

Best Place For Some Detailing Goodies?

Don't use Tripple on the windscreen. You want a polish that doesn't leave anything behind, if you're going to seal it with G1/G5. The G4 will do this, or go to Halfrauds and buy AutoGlym glass polish as it's just fine.

Best Place For Some Detailing Goodies?

Reading fail, I read G5, sorry! Ah, good to know that's back. Was annoying when Tim switched to just loyalty points.

Best Place For Some Detailing Goodies?

IronX works faster than Iron Out by most DW tests. IronX also picks out more contaminant after a hit of Iron Out, so suggest sticking with the number 1. C4 needs a very clean base and is "expensive". I'd suggest you give the trim a decent clean and then use AF Revive. Glass you need to clean...

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Much like "brand new" cars, Tim, there may still be iron contaminant and I can comfortably say there'll be some sort of bonded contaminant on there from the manufacturing process. Better safe than sorry, but it is of course down to your opinion and time constraints. If it were me and I was going...

Not getting at you, Ry. I'm saying I have Halfords two seconds away so would have popped in for some wire wool. Just couldn't leave them like that with the rest of the car looking as good as it does!

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

It's a semi permanent crystal coating, a lot like a lacquer, so it's something you do if you're happy to have them looking new for a while. It doesn't take long to do, but the cost of it might put you off. If not, don't let the "semi-permanent" bit put you off, as when you come to colour code...
