when my main harddrive is plugged in (my sata one) my dvd drive in my boot list comes up as a different name, but when imy sata harddrive unplugged and my IDE 20 gig is plugged in(that im installing ubuntu on) my dvd drive comes up as an ATAPI CD? anything to do with it? cant i boot ubuntu...

the cd is in the drive, its drive is set to boot first, and this comes up, i hit enter and it repeats itself

is there any options i should or shouldnt be selecting when installing ubuntu?

clicked that and it brought me to a new screen which asks for source and destination source im guessing is my .iso file, ive picked that but now i cant select a destination? in the log it says " No compatible destination devices found "

for some reason it wont letme start to burn with a cd, but it will burn with a dvd do i just click create a new cd? heres my options

why choose ubunu over vista? what will it improve? i just feel "safe" with vista, that i know what stuff is, i know what stuff does, i know if something breaks its a pretty easy fix. why go ubuntu?
